Our heroes get the full media treatment -- they are the first interdimensional travelers this world has ever seen.
People make them offers, including our TV producer.
(He already has the show in development, of course, but he doesn't tell them that.) The problems is that "Sliding" on this show works differently than "real" sliding, and our friends are glad to say so in public.
That's bad for the producer because his show could be made obsolete before it airs.

Since they won't "cooperate", he tries to convince the public that the heroes are a publicity stunt for his show.
They still won't cooperate. He tries to discredit them, then threaten them. Finally he realizes that if
Reputable scientists want to study the timer. The heroes agree to let them record their slide out on a big array of sensors. A competing TV network plans to
show it live.
The producer realizes that if sliding is studied, and proved to be different from the way "sliding" works on his show, he'll
have to scrap millions of dollars worth of sets and props. So he plans to destroy the timer.

Oberon Gieger was the son of the current leader of the Kromag Dynasty and was cast into the vortex for trying to kill his own father. Since Gieger is a scientist and has knowledge of Sliding technology he secretly becomes obsessed with the Sliders timer because it has the coordinates of the Kromags home world.

In later episodes Gieger asks for the Sliders timer because it has the coordinates of the Kromag home world and asks their help to overthrow the Dynasty. In return, when Gieger becomes ruler of his Dynasty he releases Rembrants home world and wade from Kromag control. This is a dream for Rembrant and convinces the rest of the sliders to help Gieger.
When they attack the home world and succeed in destroying the current Dynasty, Gieger does not fulfill his part of the deal and orders their immediate execusion before the timer hits zero. But the Sliders escape and have now have a true enimy Kromag enemy.

Quin is sorely missed, and I must admit that 'Mallory' did an excelent job mimicking Quin in his first showing. But he seems to have dropped that to be "Himself" it really is too bad.

NO! It's the world where they thought they were home, and Quinn saw that the Golden Gate Bridge was blue, and there were two Arturos and one was evil, and at the end, the two duked it out and one jumped through the vortex and the other one got up and said "Dear god..." like they took the wrong one, and now Remmy realizes that he's on that earth, and he decides to go check out the college, Quinn's house, and Arturo's place in this world to see if he can find him. (It's a great was to get Arturo back) (The place is futuristic, cause the introduction of Interdimensional transport brought along great technological jumps, and the Golden Gate Bridge is partly submerged cause of WWIII

Thank you for bringing that to our attention... that breaks my heart that people can be so... generic.. and out there... and downright stupid. Of course, had I found SIY before step one was over, my pitch would probably be up there to, LOL. But I have to admit, vonether's pitch was VERY intriguing... a could have made SUCH a good episode...
