Sliders needs a comic-book counterpart!

Sliders SO needs a comic-book counterpart! We really need to be creative and original in this endeavor... Just like Peck, only creative and original! To devise a solution to this, here's something I'd like to call the "Slide-Men."

We should bring back the original cast for this little endeavor. Maybe we could throw in some villains for good measure later.

- Quinn should shave his head, lose the use of his legs, and ride around in a hovering wheelchair. He should be allowed to read minds. Of course, any woman who reads HIS mind is in for a surprise. His new name - Professor Q! (Yes, I am aware that Arturo would probably fit this role better.)
- Rembrandt should gain the ability to shoot concussive tears out of his eyes called optic blasts! Although my original suggestion for this character's name was Remblar, I think I'll go with a more realistic one - Remclops!
- Wade is a girl who has finally developed some taste, and therefore prefers Remclops over Professor Q. She has the power to move objects with her mind (i.e. get her own body out of that damn fishtank!) and read other people's thoughts (she has found slapping Quinn in the face to be a daily activity as a byproduct of her powers). Her new name: Wade Welles! That's right; a superhero who operates under her real name! She also has the power to open vortices with her mind. Oh, wait... They're not really vortices! <wink, wink>
- Arturo should have his entire skeleton laced with an unbreakable metal! He could have claws jutting out of his wrists, hyper senses so he can smell Quinn's bullshit about caring for the team, and a healing factor so he can bounce back from all those post-mortem ribs he had to take in the late 3rd season. Now, I know you're thinking Artverine is the best name, but I prefer Artie the claw-wielding slayer of Jenny Craig jokesters!
- Maggie has enhanced strength, which allows her to give ex-bosses David Peckinpah and Colonel Rickman SUPERHEAD! She can also fly. But such powers come at a price. Whenever she's in a bitchy mood, she absorbs all the attention from anyone in the immediate area. Sadly, she hangs around Wade a lot. Maggie also has a single tuft of white hair on that ever-changing hair of head of hers. Her new name - Mague.
- Mallory becomes able to charge small objects with kinetic energy. He can throw them at his enemies with destructive force! Also, now that Professor Q is out of his body, he's fully free to be as powerful as he wants to be! He becomes - GaMallory!
- Diana learns how to control the weather, which she primarily uses to use wind to conceal GaMallory's gas problem. Her name - Diana! ... Hey, it's just as creative!
- Colin is a highly obscure superhero named ThunderColin. He has super strength and speed, and yet he's still both weak and slow. He's killed within three episodes.

I'll leave it to you to extrapolate the villains.

And yes, I AM a huge X-Men fan. And please, I urge you, if you like the animated series, read the comic. Judging the X-Men by the cartoon is like judging Sliders by reading Peck's filmography.

I say introduce
