The real fifth season premeire

Ok, I'm for serious, I have a pen-pal from France, and he tells me, that sliders has started the fifth season in his country, he tells me, that in the season premeire of slider, Quinn,Colin,Maggie, and Remmy are running, but at the start, Remmy and Maggie are waiting at the edge of the woods, waiting for Quinn and Colin to caught up, but you don't see them up close, then a building explodes, and with no time left, Remmy and Maggie slide without the brothers, and then they land in sorta like a populated city, and after a night or so, a woman, (supposely Diana Davis) and she tells them she saw them slide in, so they asked about her, and she tells them she's from this world, and has been working on sliding for 3-4 years, so then the power goes out in the hotel, and the 3 join up, and then a villian, (forget the name) but he attacks the sliders, and then Mallory comes to the rescue, and Mallory tells them that the villian is being chased by him, and so the group joins up, and slide. I sounds crappy, but this is for real, if any of you disagree with me, than that your problem.

Not True...S5 not available

I live in Europe as well, and have numerous friends in France. Although I am sure your friend meant well, Season 5 is not available in France. Universal has not released the episodes since most are still in production. It takes months after an episode is "shot" for it to make it to the final product. Jerry O'Connell explained that point in "The Making of Sliders". However, it is a very good chance that these are spoilers of some sort and sounds interesting. I like the idea of abandoning the "melding". But, your scenario does not answer why the group did not slide back to get Quinn and Colin. They have the timer and the ability to go back. Unless, it was damaged. In one of the online chats, it was stated that Diana may not join the group until a later episode. But, this could have changed. At any rate, these may be spoilers but Season 5 is not showing in France. At least, not on any of the channels or satellites....it is not listed.

Slider is just like any other TV series that is in production therefor season five episodes are ready to go. They actually are scheduled to wrap up production in about another three months. That means that a least half the season is ready to go if not more. Keith Darmon stated that with in the first three weeks they already had principle photography done on two episodes. The whole point is that you usually watch a season while it’s in production so there would be no reason to think that some are not ready yet. But I agree with you that they have yet to be released. Sci-Fi will probably hold on to them until the whole season is done like they did last season.

The Sci-Fi Channel drags out SLIDERS

Date: 01/15/1999
From: Executive

Back on October 15, John Walsh -- an important and reliable contributor on the TV GUIDE (TV Gen) website, announced in the sci-fi section that the 5th season of SLIDERS was scheduled for a January premiere on the Sci-Fi Channel, and sure enough 3 months later...January is here and they haven't even finished airing the fourth year yet.

The point is that things get pushed back for whatever reasons, and that's really a shame considering that there must be at least 7 or 8 of the 18 scheduled episodes that have been produced between October and now (even taking a few weeks of holiday vacation for the cast and crew into account). Based on what we saw last year (the first season on the channel) and how many reruns have been played way too many times in a single season, a June 1999 premiere for the 5th season seems more likely. We already know that there are no less than 5 weeks of reruns beginning on January 25.

However, there are only 6 more fourth season episodes yet to air in the U.S. so who's to say the new season won't start in April or May? We'll just have to wait and see until an official announcement is made.

By the way, I also don't believe that the new shows are airing in France, but to quote Dennis Miller, "That's just my opinion. I could be wrong!"
