Everybody knows that Charlie O'Connell played the floating corpse of Q.R. Mallory, but did you know that Cousin It from the Addams Family also had a guest appearance?

D'oh! Stupid EduLearn! And even stupider BT!

Did you know... after "Sliders" producers lost out on Geraldo Rivera (who was supposed to be in the episode "In Dino Veritas" as himself), they booked Howard Stern to appear in this episode. The former president in this universe, his role would have been as the leading opponent of EduLearn. However, the deal fell through when Stern learned that identical twins weren't playing the two Wades.

The youth-centric society depicted in "The Young and the Relentless" actually served as David Peckinpah's template when he took over as Executive Producer, only he took the idea a step further in crafting a show that not only wouldn't be for mature adults, but could only appeal to adolescent boys.

DAVID PECKINPAH: "Where are the tits? We need more tits! Fire the fat guy and find me some freakin' TITS for cryin' out loud! And someone talk to that Lloyd chick about maybe gettin' a boob job, huh?"

The Rest of the Story

The original plans for this episode were much more elaborate:

* Wade's double would have been referred as Wade-Kathleen

* Charlie O'Connell had a much larger role as QR's younger brother, the idealistic Robbie

* Wing would have returned as QR's long-time enemy Clifford Wing

* QR is still alive more much of the episode and is conducting an affair with Wade-Kathleen's sister.

* Wade-Kathleen has a drinking problem and has been involved with Cliff Wing

Finally the episode ends with Jerry O'Connell getting shot. The Cliffhanger "Who Shot Which Quinn?"

"If we end every season with the possibility of Quinn him think were going to kill him every season, it will keep him humble,"mused Torme.

The conclusion would have resolved the PTSS storyline when Suspicion falls on the Professor as the main suspect.

BTW, if you thought this "original script" was too derivative. You don't want to see this author's proposal for an "Invasion" follow-up. It's titled "Dynasty".

BT cringes when it sees the new Priceline.com commercial with both Shatner and Nimoy.

Hairstylist: Did you know that the modeled Wade's double's hair from Lea Thompson's hair from the 'Back to the Future' movies? We liked it so much in Obsession that we brought it back for this episode.

Due to manufacturer error, a single run of Young World's Impact Cola was printed with labels reading "IMPACT COLON." These cans are now collector's items that fetch over $3,000 apiece on eBay.
