To play, contribute a made-up piece of trivia about the episode. For instance...

BLINKER: You know the *real* reason FOX repeatedly delayed and rescheduled it? They so loved the premise (and so missed the point) that they were trying to put together their *own* Judgement Game, which would premiere the same night for purposes of synergy. Sadly, the legal hurdles involved in executing a person in prime time proved insurmountable, and FOX was forced to air "Dead Man Sliding" alone.

...or...

SYNTHIA: Every time Kari Wuhrer sees that watermelon get executed, she feels a sympathetic twinge. She's still not sure why.

Got the idea? Go for it.

You may realize that the streetwise blue collar criminal Quinn is obviously, the inspiration for Robert Floyd's S5 take on Mallory.

You may not be aware that this character resulted from a fevered debate among the writing staff on whether heredity or enviroment that occurred after multiple viewings of "Trading Places".

Did you know?

The producers had hoped to have David Bowie play the role of host of the Judgment Game. However, he insisted he be allowed to reprise his role of the Goblin King. Fox was forced to pass, but it did inspire the coda scene.

Beginning Text Must Be Capitalized! Or Destroyed!

Tracy Tormé originally suggested casting Lawrence Hilton-Jacobs in the bounty hunter's role, allowing him to parody his B-movie character of Detective Jon Chance. However, David Peckinpah wanted him to reprise his role as Freddie 'Boom Boom' Washington for no reason whatsoever. And you don't even want to know what he had in mind for Don Most.

David Peckinpah's original idea came from the title of the 1996 Stephen King serial novel, "The Green Mile," only in Peck's version, the walk to death row would be covered in green Slime™, and the convicted would have to wrestle their way past scanitly clad swimsuit models wielding machettes in order to have thier death penalty commuted. Envisioning that Quinn would take a running leap at the slime-covered corridor and attempt to slide his way to freedom, Peck coined the title "Dead Man Sliding". Only an injunction sought by Stephen King, horrified at the thought of being in any way responsibe for such drek, forced the rewrite that brought us this surprisingly decent S3 episode.

BT tastes better when uncooked!

I know, I'm just about as suprised as you are. :-P

Here's something you probably didn't know about "Dead Man Sliding":

Did you know that David Peckinpah originally wanted Ron Howard to star as the host of "The Judgement Game." But when Ron howard laughed in Peckinpah's face, he was forced to turn to Potsie Webber for assistance. Then, when Anson Williams kicked Peckinpah in the groin, on he went to Ralph Malf. Surprising, Don Most didn't turn it down. He did however mumble something along the lines of "I could've been bigger than Elvis..."
