But first, recognition for the board's hard-working retitlers:

• Recall317 wins a backstage pass to a Weed Killaz show!
• TemporalFlux wins a copy of "Double or Nothing," the "Angel" episode where Fred combines pancakes AND waffles into the ultimate Dorky breakfast! "I'm in starch heaven!"
• ThomasMalthus wins a chain of command!
• MissingSliderRyan wins *three* nuns!
• LiquidSunshine wins a dinner roll garnished with condiment-form Liquid Sunshine!
• Grizzlor wins Jack Klugman's missing vocal chord!
• PhantomDennis wins a laminated Sliders fanfic! How 'bout "Empty World"?

SL4EVER: GAH! Oh, wait. Sweet! :-P

=====

Wow. For once, a new slider doesn't join up in the last two minutes of the episode where an outgoing character leaves, but in the first act of a much later one. Plus, the authorities are on our guys' side for a change, there's a slide in the middle of an episode and none at the end, and there's more intentional comedy than in any episode since Season One. All very refreshing.

On the other hand, the lack of wardrobe continuity from "World Killer" is one of the most laughable signs of carelessness in the series.

But on to the Unknown Fact:

In the spirit of such other turning points as "Exodus," "Genesis" and "Revelations," David Peckinpah's working title for this episode was "Book of Numbers."

Beginning Text's brother Concluding must be destroyed!

Fact: The most prominently featured frozen turkey in the episode would not come on the set unless the other turkeys used in its scene were all relatives. Jerry O'Connell was offended by the diva-like attitude of the Butterball, and said that "it sets a bad precedent, and one I fully intend to exploit." David Peckinpah was indifferent, saying "nepotism is next to despotism. Oh wait, that's a bad thing."

Peckinpah is a divider, not a uniter.

I found the endless parade of Amish and Canadian jokes extremely grating, but it does lead me to the unknown fact.

Originally, the Sliders cover story was to have all of them come not from Canada, but Norway. Peck nixed the idea for obvious reasons. "None of them are blond!"

BT wants to go on the Great Tribble Hunt. Kirk needs a toupee!

... please stand up. Or at least the one that began his voyage on the Voyager.

Peck: It's that time again... another homage to a current television show. Let's see... let's do Star Trek: Voyager! We already have 7. Wasn't JRD on that glider on that show? Must have taken 10 crew members to raise his fat ass up. At least we won't have that problem with Charlie.

The lost ending!

With Colin cleared of the theft of Uncle Ray, Remmy used the remaining time on this world to do the exact same thing to his own frozen double, chuckling all the way to the "ATM machine."

And since all the other facts have involved shots at Peckinpah, I'll add that it was his idea.

George Clooney gives a Radically different take on Arturo in the Sliders Movie, with Will Smith as Quinn.

Now on to the Facts:

#1 Contrary to the popular belief, there was never a plane to make Colin a clone. Instead, the fact that Quinn never realizes that his long lost brother looks a lot like Kit Richards the brother of long-time crush Daelin Richards was meant to foreshadow another point.

Consider the fact that has acting very differently since Genesis, there was gap between "This Slide" and "Genesis" and the only one with Quinn was Maggie, who doesn't know him very well. Yes folks, the wrong Quinn slid.

#2 Former Congressman Ben Jones (D-GA) (Ex-Cooter, Dukes of Hazzard) was offered the role of Sherrif Dawson only after it was turned down by former Congressman Fred Grandy (R-IA) (Ex-Gopher, THE LOVE BOAT)
