Moral of the Story® is brought to you by the Bank of JLBanker. NEVER announce you are withdrawing!

=====

"Last Days" prizes're now available. Today's theme is 'Intangibles':

• Silly_Sillerson wins nuclear power!
• Vigeant wins an itching, burning sensation!
• DoctorWhy wins a slow dance!
• TM wins a nondescript (and thoroughly intangible) small thing!

Last Days' Gold Star just HAS to go to TM for his full-fledged song parody as an answer. BWAHAHAHA!

=====

Today's mission: name something you learned from watching "The Weaker Sex." Simple as that!

BLINKER: I learned you can't trust CNN, cuz they TOTALLY jumped the gun and screwed up Arturo's knowledge of the voting results. It *was* CNN, right? I haven't seen this one in ages. Anyway, I'm never watching CNN again.

SYNTHIA: I learned that the possibility of a back rub just *ain't* freakin' worth it.

What did YOU learn?

I know what *I* learned...

What I Learned Today by SE

From: Sabre_Edge

I learned that eventhough it says "Cheese" on the can it's not according to Arturo. Brie is cheese, and Camembert is cheese but my favorite Cheddar N' Bacon cheese in a can is not considered dairy!

I feel deceived now!
What's next, revelation that Cheez Whiz is not really cheesy goodness? Apple jolly ranchers not coming from real apples? The little white cubes on the Mc Donald's Cheeseburgers aren't really onions, or even real cheese for that matter?! ...or even real beef?!?!

Insanity!

SE

(Thanks for the spelling EP.com. ST must be a cheese connoisseur ;))

I learned that...

...it's not just the office of the presidency that the Season One writers decided to make ridiculously improbable people hold. I mean, c'mon, Jane Pauley as the Pope??? First of all, the Pope means FATHER! Shouldn't it be the Mame or something on a matriarchal world? Second of all, it's a pretty lame jab at Pope John Paul II, turning John into Jane and Paul into Pauley, a real groaner. Third of all, a reporter as Pope? What's next, Stone Phillips as the Dalai Lama? Walter Kronkite as a televangelist? Barbara Walters as the Russian Orthodox Patriarch? Hell, she can't even PRONOUNCE Russian Orthodox Patriarch!!

The Point

The point of The Weaker Sex,IMO is this. For centuries
men and women have been fighting for control.More so
today, than in the past. The point here is CONTROL!

Ummm............

From: Silly_Sillerson

I learned that on the inside, women are actually truly vicious, backstabbing psychos who crave power over everything they come in contact with, and that if they really were running the earth, every commercial on the T.V. would be for a different brand of feminine hygiene product!!

Oh yeah, I also learned that Arturo has a weight problem.

That sometimes Sliders' alternate histories can be completely out there. I mean, come on, Hillary Clinton in office??? Like that'll ever happen!!! :P

I learned that if Quinn has to help dry your wet hair, that means you don't have to correct proportion of water to go with that tiny, useless little bottle of complimentary shampoo hotel's provide. Or something...~:OP

And between the lines. . .

Date: 09/08/2000
From: Stoker_chick

I learned that it's only in a fascist society that a human being gets sized up regularly like a piece of meat. Oh, wait, I get that everyday. Hmmm, is there a point in that? Let's see how good you are at reading between the lines. . . okay, unnecessary tangent!

Anyway, I also learned that I would become a concubine to JOC before I would be a femminist. Female egotism. . . <shudder>. It's one of those laws of nature, where if you weren't born with balls, you REALLY weren't meant to have them.

Sorry I haven't been around. . . the fascist bureaucracy we live in seems to assume that better students deserve more torture than burn outs.

Later days.
