Now it gets tough

BT is very easy to hate.
.
Well, it's all come down to this. The final round here at Sliders Surviver. It's going to be tough deciding which ones will go, which ones will stay, but I think I'm up for the task. The question is: Are you? <POINTS>

Ummmmm.....

Season 1:
Pilot, Part 2
Well, the first hour of The Pilot sarted it all. While nothing beats Remy's Caddie flying out of the vortex, I think I liked Part 1 slightly more. henceforth, Part 2 gets voted off.

Season 2:
Into The Mystic
When given a choice between an epsiode where they made it home only to leave, and an episode where they thought they were home, I choose the one with the blur bridge. A classic episode indeed, it spawned the controversy of the ages: Which Arturo slid? So, that's why I'm voting off Into the Mystic.

Season 3:
The Guardian
I stuck up for Guardian all this time, but I knew the time would come when I'd have to vote this favorite off. Double Cross introduces the amazing Logan St. Claire, and how can you mess with that? Guardian, you'll always be in my heart, but I think I'll have to vote you off.

Season 4:
Lipshitz Live!
How this episode has lasted htis long amazes me. I mean, sure, it was funny. Sure, the acting wasn't all that bad for once. The thing is, this one episode ruined 13 episodes! If not for Lipschitz, Colin would have been revealed to be the traitor he should have been. So, Lipshitz, go take a cold shower, and try and forget about your defeat at the hands of World Killer.

Season 5:
The Return of Maggie Beckett
You know, this season was harder than I thought it would be. But, I honestly loved Applied Physics much too much to vote it off. The history altering plot, Diana's confusion and distraught nature over what she has done, it was just perfect. While Return of Maggie Beckett was enjoyable as well, the alien DNA subplot was a little hard to believe. So, Applies Physics, you are my Season 5 Survivor.

Well folks, it's been a pleasure. Here's hoping you all had fun doing this. I sure as hell did. It was tough, but fun. So, until Sliders Big Brother, seeya next time! ;-)

"Lipschitz, ass talks."

My votes, they aren't a-changin'.

From: FogBoy

There's not much to change.

Season 1 - Pilot, part II (Luck of the Draw was my top S1 episode... alas)

Season 2 - Into the Mystic (sigh... Invasion is my favorite episode of this year)

Season 3 - Double Cross

Season 4 - World Killer (Because it's still not getting any better, folks. Hey, wait... how the holy hell did Lipschitz get this far, too?)

Season 5 - Applied Physics (I was hoping for New Gods in this one, but I can live without)

WHEW! That was close.

From: The_Seer

BT is relieved too.

******

I was sweating bullets there for a while. Season 3 was going to come down to "Double Cross" and "Dead Man Sliding"? If it had come down to those two then I would have voted off "Double Cross" just to get back at those of you who voted against "The Guardian". I guess I won't have to do that now that it has survived.

Season 1 - "The Pilot, part I"

Most of the funniest (Remmy's interrogation, "People's Court", etc.) and heartfelt (Quinn's grief over Wade's apparent death and relief when he discovers it was her double, Remmy singing "Amazing Grace", etc.) scenes comes in part II so that's why I'm voting off part I.

Season 2 - "Into the Mystic"

This was a pretty good episode but the sloppy cliffhanger resolution (which obvioulsly is more FOX's fault than Torme's) kind of spoiled it a bit, plus there's just no beating "PTSS" as far as I'm concerned.

Season 3 - "Double Cross"

Okay, so I lied above (sort of). I'm not trying to vote off "Double Cross" for revenge anymore but I am voting it off simply because I like "The Guardian" a little more. So there!

Season 4 - "Lipschitz Live!"

One of the more entertaining episodes of Season 4 (and I don't often use the words "entertaining" and "Season 4" in the same sentence) but "World Killer", despite its flaws, has a superior plot.

Season 5 - "Applied Physics"

I was as eager as anyone else here to vote off Maggie episodes but "TROMB" was an episode that for once actually made me care about this character. Maybe some of you will snicker at this comment but I actually consider this Maggie's "Guardian" episode, one in which we are exposed to a side of the character that we never saw before and which makes us respect that character a little more than we might have in the past. "Applied Physics" was one of the better episodes of this season and I probably wouldn't have voted it off had it not been for "TROMB".

This is gonna hurt...

Date: 09/23/2002
From: Slider_Quinn21

I'd like to take it out on BT though...

S1-Pilot Pt.2
The second part of a two-parter is never as good. This is no exception. Although I'd put this episode alongside any other and it just might win. But how can you vote off the show that started it all?

S2-Into the Mystic
Not one of my favorite episodes. I'd have liked to see Invasion make it here to battle the great PTSS, but I guess that won't happen. I'm sure ItM would've been better if Torme got to play with it more, but its just not that great in its present form. However, the ending is classic...hands down.

But I'd have to quit writing fanfic if I tried to vote off PTSS. Besides the Pilot, no other episode spawned more fanfiction. Hell, Earth 214 wouldn't exist without it. I still have one PTSS slider on the group (you'd know what happened to the other if you read my work ;-) )

S3-Double Cross
This episode messed up Sliders in a lot of ways. The whole Los Angeles thing didn't work out very well, and I really consider this episode the beginning of the end. Because once they left SanFran, the magic started to go. Plus, the Guardian is just classic...

S4-Lipshitz Live!
Ironically one of my favorite episodes. It was the one that I first saw on Sci-Fi and I've liked it ever since. But it DID end the Kromagg Spy Arc and for that it must die.

Plus, World Killer gets better and better each time I see it...

S5-The Return of Maggie Beckett
I really liked "Applied Physics". I know a lot of people liked TROMB (me too), I just don't like the idea of aliens on Sliders. But it makes the Quantum Leap connection a little more fun.

BT really wants to know. It has this condition...

That identification was for the benefit of Grizzlor, just in case he thinks I'm a "troll".

Season 1: The Pilot, Part II. This one is pretty silly, because it's like choosing between someone's torso or their legs. You can't have a whole person without both. Nonetheless I'm going with torso.

Season 2: Into the Mystic. Largely due to Recall's influence, I've refrained from voting for this ep thus far. Now that it's up against PTSS, it's third period English class, er, history.

Season 3: The Guardian. Hey, Quinn! Just tell your friends what happened originally! Yeesh.

Season 4: Lipschitz Live! IMHO, "World Killer" is the last of the great eps. It was clearly the best episode of Season Four, and so I think it should win that title.

Season 5: The Return of Maggie Beckett. It's the only episode with Maggie's name in the title. Isn't that enough?

From: Recall317

But willing to skew results.

S1: The Pilot is at war with itself?! Tough call seeing as the People's Court is in Part 2. But you can't beat the initial awe. Bye bye part 2.

S2: It kills me, but I have to vote off "Into the Mystic." I credit the rest of the board for keeping it here to the end though. Your taste is impeccable.

S3: I have these eps dead even in my memory. I'll stick with the sentimental favorite and vote off Double Cross.

S4: Lipschitz is out.

S5: It comes down to these two eps? I think there's a reason I don't bemoan the fact I haven't seen all of this season. But I have seen TROMB, and man did it suck. Later, TROMB.

Oooooo... the final tally?

Date: 09/23/2002
From: MissingSliderRyan

BT loves to get knifed in the back. ;-)

Who said I couldn't change my voting pattern for the finale? >:-P

Season 1
The Pilot, part I
It's not even the right galaxy and the freaking Quinn with glasses scenario pissed me off for showing off that he's a genius since he has them. Wow, he never even used them again.

Season 2
Post-Traumatic Slide Syndrome
Please the Azure Golden Gate Bridge was ignored for that long? <rolls eyes>

MMM... Ryan. Tickles me that Into the Mystic lasted this long. Bwahahahaahaha.

Season 3
The Guardian
Little Quinn please go away, you're almost as irritating as THE BOY. Besides, I'd never vote against Logan. :-) Girl, rocks.

Season 4
World Killer
Down with Grunge Quinn, besides it's Rabbit Season!

Season 5
Applied Physics
Sorry, the Jiggle Me, Baby doll had a more interesting story though it had a cliched ending.

Thanks Eusti for posting this fun game and to you backstabbers, you know what's going to happen. >:-P

BT has no place in the Real World!!

Well, the finalists from S3-5 don't particularly surprise me, but the others certainly do. "Into the Mystic" beating out "Invasion," "As Time Goes By," and *especially* "El Sid"? Damn! And while the Pilot is stellar as a two-hour epic, an isolated half of it doesn't make a better episode than "Last Days" or "Luck of the Draw," IMHO.

SLIDER_QUINN21: Hold on! Weren't you the one who spent half the game trying to kill "Invasion" to save "PTSS"?

BLINKER: Oh... right.

Season One: "The Pilot, Part II"
Season Two: "Into the Mystic"
Season Three: "Double Cross" [This is going to be an interesting matchup. I'd give 2-1 odds in favour of DC surviving the round, but you never know.]
Season Four: "World Killer" [I know a lost cause when I see one... and then I vote to save it.]
Season Five: "Applied Physics" [Because (A) TROMB is da bomb, and (B) the 'world merger' as presented in 'Physics' is among the most ill-thought-out, baffling premises of all time.]

From: Grizzlor

Malthus, sorry, I don't what I was talking about the last round. I was just watching American Idol!!! Whoa...bo dum bum (drums).
Again, really cool of everyone to explain their choices, I found them great to read.

Season 1
Pilot Part II......I love the Remmy Peoole's Court part, and I feel it is the second best "episode", but like Recall said, the initial awe of the first part is unmatched. And Rembrandt's FACE when he sees the ice tornado is the absolute FUnniest moment in the show's history!!!

Season 2
Into the Mystic.....I am one of those who voted for this one to stay, even though it would get pummelled by PTSS. But I consider my voting to be sincere and I voted for the lesser ep. off each time. Invasion was good, but it was the concept that was good, not the episode. I though felt that Into the Mystic featured so much of what made the First season so great I had to keep it. Until now. PTSS just for the Arturo mystery is one as great as Who shot J.R. It was such a radical move by Torme and Co. that you just don't see on television.

Season 3
The Guardian......Like PTSS, Double Cross featured another idea so novel and intriguing I just couldn't vote it down. A double of Quinn, who is a woman! A villain to add to that! Unfortunately, Logan never appeared again, which sealed her magistry. IF she had come back, and not been very interesting, then Double Cross would have faded. As for The Guardian, I thought the interaction between Quinn and his younger self, and Quinn and Arturo was phenominal.
I am really twisted on this one, because The Guardian was a better episode, but Logan is so overwhelming. Just for the potential she could have brought to the show. In the Guardian I really thought that the Arturo dying and sick so he does all these crazy things was kind of stupid.

Hey DMD, we should have been able to vote on a Wild Card pick!!!! Each person puts in an episode that was voted off, and the one with the most votes gets a wild card pass to the final round. I would have loved to vote for the Guardian there, although a season one ep. would probably get the most anyway.

Season 4
Lipshitz Live!.....I thought this one was really entertaining. You had Colin being totally idiotic, but funny. And Quinn on the talk show was Classic. Great stuff. However, World Killer was the oddball of Season 4, like The Guardian or Double Cross for season 3. It was an episode that was in the tradition of the first 2 years, surrounded by many subpar episodes.

Season 5
Applied Physics....I so hated Peckinpah, Dial and Damron's idea of the merging and unstucking and all the nonsense. The season 5 plot arc was so annoying and horrible that I have tried to vote them all off....Unstuck Man, Applied Physics, Eye of the Storm, etc. The Seer was actually more decent because it gave at least the groundwork for a Final conclusion of the garbage. Return of Maggie Beckett probably won't win because so many people just hate Maggie. I'm not a Maggie lover either, but this episode at least was intriguing from a science fiction standpoint. I liked it, it was good. The alien thing was corny yet livable.

Thumbs down to this rubbish!!

From: Slidemania

Season 1
"The Pilot - Part 2"

Why the hell would a world ruled by the Soviet Union speak ENGLISH?!

Season 2 -
"Post Traumatic Slide Syndrome"

Yes, the Which Arturo Is Which? concept is fascinating, but a lot of the episode is just poorly executed. "Into the Mystic" isn't my favorite from S2, but it still beats out "PTSS".

Season 3 -
"The Guardian"

"Double Cross" was the best of S3, and "The Guardian" was just plain boring. Hell, there were a couple of late-S3 Maggie episodes that were more watchable than "The Guardian"!

Season 4 -
"Lipschitz Live!"

Was it really necessary to make Alternate Colin use that horrid New York accent?! "World Killer" was also pretty lame, but survives my vote by default.

Season 5 -
"The Return of Maggie Beckett"

Sorry, but I gotta stand by my "Applied Physics"...best episode of the entire series. I moderately enjoyed "The Return of Maggie Beckett," but not even The Leader or Crazy Eddie could save it from noticeable moments of monotony.

My votes go to...

From: Robin14334

I want to vote off BT!

Hmmm, I haven't been around lately, and I have to wonder what you folks have been doing here... you voted off a lot of good episodes and kept some, uh, not so good ones...

S1: Pilot pt. 2
Honestly, I wouldn't have picked either of these as the best of season 1. Whoever said that together they're an awesome movie, but as stand alone eps they're not as good, was right on the money. Between the two, I think pt. 1 is better only because pt. 2 is more formulaic.

S2: Into the Mystic
I definitely didn't expect this one to get to the final 2. PTSS is definitely superior in my book.

S3: The Guardian
Finally! Two equally good episodes in the final two! I guess everyone really wanted to get rid of all the drivel season 3 produced. :-) Anyway, Logan kicks little Quinn's butt, so that's why I vote for this one.

S4: World Killer
So it ruined the cool Colin plotline, but I actually liked Lipschitz. So sue me. Besides, Quinn's hair in WK was REALLY bad.

S5: Applied Physics
I just liked TROMB much more than this one.
