SLIDERS Conspiracies: Wade

I was just looking at my tape of DOUBLE CROSS (for reasons you will all become aware of in a few days, heh-heh), and noticed something.

The morning after Wade and the Professor find out the truth about Logan (and Logan's boss nabs Wade with a floppy of the Arturo murder), Wade suddenly shows up saying 'I spent the night in a small office at the lab...I managed to convince them I didn't know anything.'

Yeah, right.

A moment later, she suddenly gets verbally abusive with Arturo. She's just tried to convince Quinn to go back to the lab like nothing's wrong, but the Professor wants them to stay away from the place. Wade suddenly, uncharacteristically and a little oddly says "WHO ASKED YOU?!?" I say "uncharacteristically" because while Wade was never afraid to speak her mind, it just seemed a little unexpected that she'd have reacted that way, at that moment. (And the look on her face was a little strange too.)

Was it really Wade?

There's a chance that Logan would have grown up with a life SIMILAR to Quinn's, and she may have actually met a Wade double in school while growing up. Might they have actually been "partners in crime"? If Logan was "dark", might the Wade of her world have been too?

What if that wasn't "our" Wade who left with the Sliders when they slid off Logan's world? Might it have been Wade's double, spying for Logan or for Logan's boss? Might Logan have later tried to kill "her" Wade to keep her quiet? (And might that not have changed the Wade-double's attitude toward Logan, and changed her as a person, resulting in her becoming a bit more like "our" Wade?)

Now, if this were true, then there's always the possibility that our Wade was killed, but then Logan never DID return to her homeworld, as far as we know. If our Wade lived past the slide time, the others Logan left behind might have been a little less likely to do anything homicidal than Logan might have been.

The original Wade might actually be alive on Logan's world.

This opens up a lot of possibilities. (The Kromagg's Wade-in-a-box didn't seem that interested in Quinn, as we've all noticed, but was only looking for Remmy. Quinn could have reminded her of Logan, with her later attachment for Remmy resulting.)

Wacha think?

ANOTHER point...

After Arturo finds out that it was his double, not Logan, who invented sliding, he says to Wade 'Odd that it would him who'd iinvent it,' and "Wade" says 'Why? You're the same person...wouldn't you invent the same thing?'

She thought OUR Professor, not Quinn, invented sliding!
It COULDN'T have been our Wade!

wrong

you must have either not payed attention or just never finished the episode. that was wades double and the profesor knew it. in the next scene after wade talks talks about the profesor inventing sliding, he grabs her and pulls her to the side. she responds by saying "hey whats your problem!" he then says "my problem is that on my world i didn't invent sliding! now where is my friend wade!" in the scene affter that when quinn sees that arturo has tied up wade, the profesor says " it's not wade it's her double. logan hired her." they to get their wade back, quinn fed a virus into logan's computer system. because of this they got wade back and she slid with them.
