My real first name is Salah. I became S the Great when I picked my Hotmail account in 1997. I tried about three other monikers, but the only one that wasn't taken was s_the_great@hotmail.com. I remembered an old nickname of mine--Salah the Great. I shortened it to S the Great for some reason that escapes me at the moment. I used the same moniker when I made my website the next year, and when I came here. However, s_the_great was already taken as a Yahoo! identity, which pissed me off.

I actually picked this screen name before season 4 started. On my instincts I wanted a really cool name, so I picked the up and coming Collin_Mallory. I thought Colin would be so awesome, like I thought Quinn was. It turned out my instincts sucked, and I'm not a quitter so I have kept it since season 4.

The first part is easy, lol. 142 actually was derived from my favourite number, 4. Halve 4, then halve that. Also, I could swear it's the coordinates of our earth in the multiverse. Lol, don't ask me where I got that idea from. I have E 142 scrawled on my violin case too. Yup, I'm weird. lol
Anywho, it's also a nice round, even, though imperfect number. ;-) And yes, that was some mathematical lingo I just used. lol. Also it is one of the proper divisors of the smallest friendly numbers known to man. One of the pair is 284, the other is 220. (Curiously, Jacob gave Esau 220 goats as a gesture of friendship. Only 20 were male. Go figure).

I wanted to use the name QBall when I signed on to America Online. As all Slider fans should know Q-Ball is the pet name that Rembrandt uses for Quinn. Though don't ask me why he calls him that. Anyway, Qball had all ready been taken and AOL assigned me the name QBall43185. Therefore, that is my name. i'm sure the other QBalls would have the same story. my question is where did SexualChocolate69 get his (or her) name? Then again children may be posting. I heard a grown nephew mimicking someone at his job. Mimicking their southern slang and how we shorten our word. Yeontoo is Don't you want to , said in a southern way, very fast, with no emphasis on word separation. I loved it. I have used it as my handle and sign in on every site I participate in. My other half hates our email address!

over the past few years I have found it ... beneficial, shall I say? to have a pseudonym prepared for various situations... I use it when I talk to people online that I don't know (if they ask my name and I don't want to say), for a nom de plume when I create various pieces of literature (aka crap on paper... mostly for my poetry as I'd never have anyone I know read *that*... for short stories I usually use my own name... unless its some kind of sentimental stuff where Ann F. sounds more romantic an author than my real name), and pretty much for whenever I feel like slipping into an alternate personality... Ann's more mature than me, more worldly I think, but also more romantic. I started out playing this role on the board... but lately I've been slipping and there's less distinction between me and her... So where did the name come from? It's my parents' middle names of course!

There's not much to my handle. I think I chose it because it could have two meanings. 1) SF=Science Fiction, Darlin=Darling (uh, my personality???? not really!) 2) SF= San Francisco, the town just down the road from my house. Darlin= Darling, my last name. (some people back in High School would call me Darlin' as kind of a nick name) Get it?
How about Sleeepingtiger? You live near Portland right? Anything to do with the town Tigard just outside of Portland? I've been wondering! (I used to live in a suburb of Portland a few years ago, so Tigard came to mind.)

My friend couldn't pronounce the word for bird in Spanish (Pajaro- pronounced Pa-har-o) so he pronounced it Parajo (Pa-ra-ho). We were board and came up with a whole story about Parajo- The Oppressor (that's where my thing at the end of my posts came from). His name changed with every story (Parajo- The Almighty, The Conquerer, etc.) In our Theology books we took the maps of the ancient world and made them maps of Parajo's conquerings and wars and such. This is what we did to pass the time in Spanish and Theology. I use the name for everything because it is unique, like a secret code or something.
