B5 Actors Slide Onto SCI FI

Former Babylon 5 actors Peter Jurasik and
Jerry Doyle will be joining the universe of the
SCI FI series Sliders next season. Jurasik is set
to play the recurring role of Dr. Oberon
Geiger, a disembodied scientist who wreaks
havoc with the Sliders when he causes the
interdimensional travelers to have an identity
crisis.

Meanwhile, Doyle will play Sgt. Vernon
Larson, the commander in charge of troops in
a type of purgatory between Earth
dimensions where he is ordered to protect a
mysterious bunker. Jurasik will appear in the
season-five premiere episode "The Unstuck
Man" as well as "Eye of the Storm" and
"Applied Physics," while Doyle will guest star
in "Strangers and Comrades."

The fifth season of Sliders begins June 11.

Now only do we have two great Babylon 5 actors
guest starring next season, we got some episode titles
(including the season premire title) and the start date
for Season 5. Thank you scifi

I've heard of Peter Jurasik and Jerry Doyle from having read a few articles and columns on the show. These would be the first major recurring characters in SLIDERS since Colonel Rickman in the 3rd season and Kolitar last year. Whether Dr. Geiger and Sgt. Larsen are any good remains to be seen, but they can't be any worse than the actors who played Rickman and Kolitar!

The writers really seem to be stretching the boundaries with these new characters -- interdimensional troops? They might as well be stationed in a series of wormholes for that matter. You can't get much furthur from the original format than these changes.

Thanks for posting the article, Justin.

Thanks..

I've never seen Babylon 5 but I've heard great things about both it and the two actors. June 11, huh...looks like we actually get it first (unless I missed something about another country starting earlier...*please* tell me I didn't!).
