Anyone think this part may have been originally written as Conrad Bennish? Anyone think it should have been?

In my opinion, it would have been perfect!

This could have been the episode that they tried to get Bennish for.

He reminded me of the resistence movement in "Net Worth", and this episode did have a few high tech similarities to the earlier story. The Guy computer character was a throwback to "Max Headroom", but with higher video resolution.

As for Arlo, I think that he and conspiracy theorist Crazy Eddie in the FIRST WAVE series would make a great team in helping Cade Foster fight the aliens!

Damron's journal backs it up

"We also changed Arlo from a hi-tech whiz kid surfer-type (an idea that's been done to death) to the middle management sales rep who had been ousted by his employer, Data Universal."

Whiz kid... surfer... sounds like Bennish to me, dudes.

take Damron's word as gospel. He may have said that they wanted to take Arlo in a different direction, but he was merely covering for his bosses, who could have gotten Jason Gaffney to reprise his role as Bennish, but for some reason or another, decided against it. I, for one, would have rather seen Bennish in that role.

Of course I'd rather have Bennish...

I was only quoting the article to support the theory that PP1 was written with Bennish in mind. I agree that his aside was probably just covering for a decision from higher up... it's not the first time he's done that.
