I went to the cast party and everyone was saying how the chance of the show getting renewed was great. I don't know what happened.

I threw this together at work today, and plan to add more info as it is made available. Any of you on N&A mailing lists or bboards please make this known!

Yesterday they were going to renew it. I'm sooo disappointed, Now and Again is the best show currently in production. I did a bit of research and apparently what happened is that the NAACP complained to CBS about cancelling the black-majority very-low-rated drama City of Angels. Fearing more bad publicity over the lack of minorities in its programs, CBS decided to un-cancel City of Angels and to cancel Now and Again instead. Drat, drat, drat .....

Any hope that SciFi or someone else would pick up Now and Again????

One thing I don't understand...

Unlike most genre shows <cough> Farscape <cough> Now and Again actually did pretty well in the ratings, even by network standards. I believe it usually received something in the 5.0 range. Certainly not in the top ten but still respectable. I don't see why CBS would cancel it while keeping other shows that receive a lesser rating, unless of course it is because of the network imposed quota system. But even then, N & A's second lead is African American. Maybe a former Sci-Fi Channel Executive recently took a new job in CBS' programming department. That's the only reason I can think of for such a strange decision to have been made.

CBS must be run by the SCIFI channel!

They obviously don't know what they are doing!

Your only hope is that LIFETIME picks it up and runs it as their own show!

I was thinkig of another show, but

the response is the same!
What the h*ll is CBS thinking.

This is an example of a show that must be picked up by another station.
It would be perfect for NBC, that Saturday night lineup from last year (too bad they just trashed that format)
Or for UPN to get something decent into their format.
ABC only thinks of "Millionaire", a bunch of nearsighted Regis ass-kissin lovers!
WB, if it was about some 16 year old instead, they would grab it, otherwise, fergetabouitit.
Cable, USA, LIFETIME, SCIFI...maybe by January of next year, so don't hold your breathe.

The problem is all the TV schedules for the upcoming season have been laid and mid-season replacements have been set.
There is always hope!
(Unfortunately that hope is in the same class of the Detroit Tigers winning the World Series this year!)

A sad rant on my part.
BRING BACK RADIO SHOWS!!!
