Earth317 debuts at Otherworlds

Hi there,

About a week ago I joined the fanfic fray and I'm pleased to announce that Earth 317 is open!

Unlike many of you, I had never seen seasons 4 and 5 until this month (and I'm still season 5 free for the moment). So my fondest memories are of the original cast. They're the characters I know; they're the characters I can write. So instead of trying to put things right again, Earth 317 simply diverges from Earthprime in early 1997 when Fox execs decide not to renew their struggling show 'Sliders' for the '97-'98 season. The Executive Producer, not wanting to be associated with a doomed product, jumps ship. Fox essentially gives the new producer carte blanche to wrap up the show.

Production has just wrapped on SL-316 Lost of Eden, leaving the new team in place 8 episodes to finish the series the right way. The first effort airs 2.21.97, SL-317 Recall.

Please check out Earth 317 at http://slidersweb.net/otherworlds/317/index.htm

The stories are written as episodes. While not adhering strictly to a script format, there is no internal dialogue. These episodes are on the long side, but no longer than a 1 hour show. I advise printing them if possible.

Thanks for taking a look! The project is 8 episodes long and should be completed by late January/early February with a 10-14 day release schedule. Feedback is always welcome.

Mike

"Recall" is some of the best fan fiction I've read for Sliders. It's funny and makes excellent use of the concept. Don't pass this one by!

Thanks for reading guys!

I submitted SL-318 to Otherworlds so it should be up this weekend. I hope it lives up to its predecessor.

Recall317,

I was totally floored when I read 'Recall'. I haven't read an innovative 'Sliders' fanfic such as yours in a very long time. Thanks for taking the time and effort for this story and for the others. I wish you continued success.
