Frustrations... and SIY

Hello all,

First, I'd like to thank those of you who emailed me wondering what the hell happened to me. I was in San Jose on business and didn't really have time to check the boards. Didn't die, just took a brief hiatus...

...speaking of hiatus. I'm taking a permanent one from this board. Posting, that is. I'm removing myself from this board after all of the stupid flame crap and the lack of interesting things to read and I'll be concentrating on my web site and the BBoard that is a part of it. After all, I still have several episode capsules to write, and the Comics section is in serious need of update (no mention to the FAQ and Cast sections which will surface sometime before the next millenium). I wish I could say I enjoy my time on this board, but I don't. Hopefully, those of you who enjoy discussing the show and not explaining the basics of it to a newbie will migrate over to the new board.

As for SIY... it's almost laughable. I'm actually a little relieved that my pitch didn't make Stage 4. It took me by surprise the three that DID make it, but it's been obvious from the beginning that the creators of the contest had no intention of running it like it gave a rat's ass about the competitors. This is a good thing. I almost pissed my pants when I heard what the prizes would be. Who cares about that stuff?

This means that I will be writing "Opportunity Cost" and placing it on my web site so everyone can see. I'll use the ideas submitted by my Pitch-mates and we can all take a gander.

This also means that I'll be developing my own SIY. I'll be adding it to the site by Monday. It'll basically be another bulletin board, where each new topic is a different pitch. The rules will be explained there. I don't know what the prize will be yet, but at least the participants will be treated with dignity.

So, I'll still pop into the chat room, since that's a lot of fun, but aside from posting an EARTHPRIME update or something major rolling onto the plate, I'm outta here. Take it easy, all.

It's sad to see that you're leaving, but it's really not hard to see why. You have more than one good reason to.

Although I will miss your vilifying of Executive. At least we still have Darkslider, who's extremely good at it as well. ;-)

I am very interested in your SIY project. I'll be sure to check it out when it's done. In the meantime, see you on the Intelligent Discussion board!
