This is why I love the bulletin board. *This* is why I love Sliders.
It isn't the show. I haven't thoroughly enjoyed the show since "Dead
Man Sliding," long before I came online and assumed the mantle
of SpaceTime. Sure, there's been some standout episodes from the past
couple seasons, but they are soured with the whole infighting and behind
the scenes buffoonery we learned about from TemporalFlux and his inside
sources.
No, what it is is the human drama of the people who are fans of the
show. We're worse than Star Trek fans. Of this I am sure. We've got
the mindless, clueless goofs that go around asking about information
that even moderately informed fans knew months ago. There's the lurkers,
people who read yet never feel the need to contribute. The spammers,
who like to whip out there big cock and slam it on the keyboard, as
if we care.
There's also the big leaguers, of which I guess I'm a part of. People
like TemporalFlux, Blinker, QBall and Jorge Cisneros, who have web sites
or connections to sources or both and post enough here that they are
a familiar face.
Why I'm a part of this, I have no idea. I run EARTHPRIME.COM,
sure. But aside from that, I don't think I bring much to the BBoard
aside from amusement. I guess I have the luxury of seniority here that
people have seen me post against Executive (notably with his totally
off review of "Obession" - seriously, dude, WHAT were you
thinking?), idiot goofs and other assorted trolls who felt they were
above everyone else. You know who you are.
Despite what people think, I do not have a god complex. Honestly, I
cannot believe that stupid phrase was so blown out of proportion. First
of all, Darkslider jokingly called me the God of Sliders Sites when
I told Captain Maggie point blank what I thought of hers. Second, when
I repeated the line, I quoted the movie "Groundhog Day." The
smart ones picked up on that. The idiots did not, and now I'm plagued
by this stupidity.
As I've said countless times (I feel like one of the recent mob who
felt the need to contribute no new opinions in light of the Joke), I
run EARTHPRIME.COM. I also post
here. Some people, like Garrett, seem to believe there's a connection.
Aside from one day where I took the site down, that is not the case.
Garrett also believes that I have become so problematic that the only
*honorable* thing I can do is to relinquish control of Expert's pages
to TemporalFlux. As if Expert gave them to me. I guess an argument is
good because it lets me reiterate the same common knowledge ad nauseum.
Garrett also believes that because of the way I am, EARTHPRIME is forever
tainted with my horribly subjective and twisted views. Well, Garrett
was right on one count. My opinions shape my web site. Case in point,
my episode capsules. I lace them with my own opinions. If I hate an
episode, it'll be readily apparent. You disagree? Well, it's not your
website. Make your own episode capsule and write what you think. And
then you'll be just as incredibly subjective as I am.
Now, on to the latest litany of idiocy.
Slider_Sarah gave me a cool quote: "A joke is not a joke. It's
serious stuff until it's laughed at." That's courtesy of some song
by the Lightning Seeds.
Well, lemme tell you, I have been laughing my ass off since Tuesday
afternoon.
Lemme tell you something else: I never pretended to have any integrity.
This is a bulletin board. The odds of me meeting anyone here aside
from Darkslider, who I knew in person and dragged him into this little
menagerie, is non-existent. Therefore, the written word is the most
critical factor here in building friendships. I have made several friends,
and I talk with them often over Instant Messenger or via email. Anything
of a personal nature is carried out there, not in the BBoard. In fact,
I now consider the BBoard to be nothing more than a playground. Nothing
substantive, just a bunch of kids running around jabbering like monkeys.
And I have treated it as such. I do not tolerate the dolts and attack
them for their lackluster brain pan. I also goof around. Blinker and
I created the Phone Booth World, a tribute to Garrett's seminal Mindgame
web site.
And of course, there's the Joke. Why the capitalization? Because it
will never be eclipsed on this board.
I played a really good Joke. It wasn't even remotely factual, but it
sure sounded real, didn't it? It's absurd. It's absolutely absurd. The
fact that people believed for a SECOND that the five of us would get
together and just royally SCREW the board for shits n' giggles is the
greatest testament to the collective idiocy that exists at good ol'
1/5/545.
And then phase two of the idiocy set it: dozens of random settling
in to offer meaningless interpretations that only echo something someone
else already said, posts where mindless goofs fail to read testimony
from those involved and reiterate the foolishness, and general in-fighting.
Now, we've got total rejects who can't look back one day to determine
the source of all the nonsense making analytical comments and forming
biases and judgements on third hand information when they could get
it STRAIGHT FROM THE HORSE'S MOUTH.
Let's get one thing straight, just for the record:
- JLBanker made the comment in chat on January 3, 2000.
- I heard about it and confirmed it in chat.
- I *alone* made the post.
- TemporalFlux, QBall79, Jorge and Blinker did not contribute to the
posting of "The RKWeiss lie... exposed"
I find it funny that these people all of a sudden lose respectability.
I could say the same of myself, but I'm not concerned with what other
people think about me. I do not apologize for what I did. I *am* sorry
that this had such a negative effect on those I mentioned, but that's
it. I had a gas watching all of the mindless morons freak out and buy
into the hysteria, flame anyone and everyone, and continue to prove
to me that intellectual discussion can never truly happen here because
the average poster is too simian in nature to contribute anything valid.
The majority of the people here are idiots. I've been saying that for
years and it will not change.
I have been a good friend to many of you. Now a lot of people are rethinking
that. Well, if you pride board politics over our friendship, I don't
know what to think.
One thing is for certain: just because this caused a ruckus doesn't
mean I'm going to tame myself. I'll continue to post exactly how I've
always posted, regardless of public opinion. That is how I have always
presented myself.
After all, I am a Law unto myself.
