I remember one time my freshman year of college cruising through one of the dorms looking for a buddy of mine when I noticed that one of the comic strips I'd drawn for my lousy college paper was on someone's door.

It was my own personal moment of Zen.

There's nothing quite as exhilarating as knowing that something you put work into is appreciated by someone who's never met you but nonetheless thinks that your effort speaks to them.

I don't really know what this has to do anything, but it's a nice, warm anecdote that should give just about anybody a warm fuzzy.

Even Executive.

This post is to let you know that, at the conclusion of Dx and the Executive War, I will no longer post at the Dominion BBoard. I have found myself more and more disenfranchised with this past community in recent months, and I believe that it is my time to make way for another, even more ridiculous generation of posters.

This place is not what it once was. The mirth, the joy, the creativity is gone. The regulars seldom post here. The BBoard is becoming a graveyard and I find that stifling.

After the last Dx post, there will be no goodbye, no exit with a bang. This is my announcement.

You told me this a few weeks ago, so I was waiting. I've sorta prepared a little good bye.

ST, when I first met you at the MCA Netforum, I didn't really know you. I think we talked about BTTF once. Good times, good times.

Then you came out with The Hitchikers Guide to the Multiverse and I thought it was one of the coolest sites around. I laughed when syrup tried to attack you for stealing the name, I should have defended you though. I still feel bad for that.

The Hitchikers Guide to the Multiverese soon grew into earthprime.net then to earthprime.com and you became one of the hippest members of the Dominion board.

After that, you turned into a jackass.
But I liked you for that. Because you're funny as hell when you rip on people. I love reading your flames because you let that person know that you loathe every cell in their god forsaken body. It's funny.

It's not gonna be the same around here. We're all gonna miss ya.

Doctor_Quinn is gone. Slidemania hasn't been seen here in a month or two. Informant hardly ever posts here... if he's even here anymore. FogBoy hardly ever posts here. Sliding_Cpt_Bridger hardly ever posts here. vortex62 hardly ever posts here. TemporalFlux hardly ever posts here. Le_Modus hardly ever posts here. Slider_Sarah hardly ever posts here. Yeontoo hardly ever posts here. Slider39 hardly ever posts here. KllyWlls hardly ever posts here. Slider_Dee, Slider_Quinn21, cc_deville, capaqu, and so on... SL4ever is always in and out. HunterD_Raven doesn't rant as much as he used to. I can't speak for all the few remaining regulars, (Hunter, Space, dark, Stoker, Tigs, Stax_, Sabre, Jorge, Eusti, CoolSlider, dellyone, DMD, myself, and about five others) but I belive it's safe to say we all have a very low opinion of the Dominion Board in its present state.

All of these people and more are the only reason I've stayed here for a full year in the first place. However, this Board has simply jumped the shark, as it were. I come here only about an eighth as often as I used to, and I find most of the new posts to be boring, bland, and uninteresting... mine included. Being here is dampening my creativity... and wasting it at the same time.

A week or two ago I almost left this Board because I was depressed about something else. Now I just want to leave because I find this whole place to be sickening. The whole concept is dead.

When exactly am I leaving? That's for me to know and you to find out... (I've been waiting for EIGHT YEARS for a chance to use that cliché in context... Woohoo... Ugh.) although I will not leave here until AFTER Space does. Now, I don't want to call this an Evacuation. I prefer to think of it as an Exodus. You see, I think many people will quietly go with Space and myself, and others will voice their opinions too. I'm not leaving the Sliders community; only this Board. I can still be found on AIM and on the troll-free Board. I encourage others to leave this Board to the trolls. They're the only people who can derive any real enjoyment from it anyway.

For all I fuckin' care, RandomsEdge can have this Board. He continually tries to attack me and my friends, but where I'm goin', he can't even talk to me OR my friends. Thus ends this fight that immature moron has started with me, and he can use every alternate Salah handle in his arsenal, but he can't attack someone who elects not to receive said attacks.

I know I shouldn't be doing this, but I know I'll have the last word in since I won't be reading this little prick's response... RandomsEdge, you lost the flame competition fair and square; giving you an 8 for those shit-pellets you call flames is giving them a HELL of a lot of credit, considering you were stupid enough to plagiarize AND attack the judge himself. why folks would want to leave. I'm still relatively new here compared to posters like Brand_S, SpaceTime, TemporalFlux, QBall79, Info, etc., etc., but working on the HoF, I've read some of the old posts that people used to come here to see. The difference between now and then? The show ended.

I suppose it had to happen eventually. Still, it's unfortunate. The board has always had problems with trolls and inane posts. Pick any of the pages hyperlinked at the bottom of the main bboard page and you'll find that's true. The difference is that now there's very little that hasn't been discussed before. Those that have been here the longest would be the most frustrated by this. To the newer members of the board, they may be seeing some of it for the first time. Maybe it is time for a changing of the guard, who knows?

I, for one, will be sorry to see anyone leave the board (with the possible exception of RandomsEdge). I've got ST's AIM handle and I know where the troll-free zones are, so I'll still run into S, but anytime the board loses a member, it becomes weaker. Soon, this might look like the Quantum Leap or Star Trek board. A post or two each week. I hope it doesn't come to that. Until it does, I plan on being here. Just like I haven't totally left the Studios USA bboard along with the rest of that crowd (Not that anyone really pays attention to me, anyway ;) ).

This board is dying. As many of you have said, its dull as Hell here. I just started reading this board right when Sliders ended, it took me a few months to even think of anything to say. I only post here when I have something to say, but I read most of the posts here everyday. Sliders is becoming nothing but a distant memory. I only watch the reruns once or twise a week now. I have seen them all so many times, and now that the season 3 episodes have ended. . . you get the point, its just not worth it. I know what I have said in the past, but you're right, the Sliders series is gone. Our only hope is a Sliders Movie now, but I'm starting to doubt that it will happen. The only reason I even still read here is because I keep hoping to find something interesting (I read all of the fan fics though). I'm also not that much of a social person, even online. Its surprising that one person could have a self-esteem so low that its hardly believable.
Anyway, most of you are very interesting and it will be sad to see you go, but I completely understand why you would want to. I am currently working on something that I think is very funny, I will post it here on monday. Also, I will be updating my website all next week, a month was way too long to go without updates. If any of you have actually seen it, then please tell me what you think. Its the first website that I have actually been serious about.

The changing of the guard...

I remember the last one as a slow trickle of missing handles and new "faces." The board loses a bit of what makes it special when each person leaves (whether slipping out quietly or with a heartfelt goodbye). With the show in reruns many of us wonder at it's future, but something in me keeps me at least perusing the handles and posts. Perhaps I am the optimist in hoping that for a short while people will return if and when the movie becomes real. Until then, I'll post the odd meandering observation and try to twist fanfic into a new idea or form.

I raise my glass to those who have gone on before and those who are walking through the doors now. Good luck in your endevours. Your missing presence will be felt.
