Let's just say it had something to do with a mutated animal...and we're not talking about a three-eyed fish.

P.S. Speaking of Blinker being the man, belated thanks for the cool "O Grave New World" graphic.

Still doesn't explain why...

BT was inveted to destroy us all!

That explains why they don't age, even though time is definitely going by (Bart has been identified as being born in the 80's).

But what about school? There have been at least two "last day of school" episodes that I remember (but I think there were 3) and I know there was at least one "back to school" episode. And yet Bart and Lisa are still in 4th and 2nd grade respectively.

You would expect Bart to be in 4th grade for 12 years, but shouldn't Lisa have passed him by now? ;-)

It's probably to keep strangers from noticing that the town doesn't age. You would need to keep children that looked a certain age in their expected places.

Of course, If you saw the ep where Springfield is suffering from a heat wave you would have noticed that Fonzi,Jughead, and Fat Albert are still in the 4th grade as well. And they sure don't look like kids. :)

Thanks back at ya!

Aging mystery?

From: Spacetime

Here's the real reason Bart and Lisa do not age. It's because they are CARTOON characters. They are not real people. It's the same reason why they can have two end of the school year mentions and one back to school episode and have Bart and Lisa still be in the second and fourth grade. Springfield has been listed/hinted at being in several different states, too. Why do we need to explain something when it's obvious that the Simpsons are not operating in the real world? Look at the the Halloween episodes. Are we to believe that all of them really happened? Of course not. Let's not try to rationalize everything that happens on TV. It's only pretend, after all.

HHH!

Couldn't have said it better, my dear alter-ego. Or funnier.

Trading Spaces with BT is never good.

Thanks for the intel. If you could post a list of all the TV shows that are real and then a list of those that are not, that would help me out a lot. Just as long as Sliders isn't on it; we all know it's real.

P.S. No wonder nobody wanted my nude photos of Dr. Zoidberg!

NEW EPISODE

What's real and not real?

Date: 09/13/2002
From: Spacetime

Actually, Sliders is the only real show on TV. This was proven in "The Seer", where the Sliders saw themselves on television. Everything else is fake. Except "Big Brother", "Survivor", and "The Mole". The're only real people in fake, staged situations where people can stoop down to the lowest levels man can possibly stoop down to. And make a lot of money while doing it.
