Advisory: Consecutive = jupiter_2002

The following article posted by my double was retrieved from the Sliders BBoard on Earth 3287. It is reprinted here in the belief that it may shed some light on the actions of "mars_2003."

I have reason to believe that the spammer known as jupiter_2002 is none other than our very own Consecutive. Bear with me...

First off, how do we know jupiter wasn't the same as GlidersGlow and Y2KBoy? There are a number of clues... for instance, the original spammers flooded four pages at a time, whereas jupiter couldn't even manage one. Then, consider the interior contents of their posts: the originals used a single letter, whereas jupiter left the more common period (also favoured by Consecutive.) There's also capitalization (the first spammers only capitalized the first word of a sentence, whereas jupiter capped every one), and format (the others started with "SPAMMING WILL BEGIN IN FIVE MINUTES" and never insulted anyone who didn't address them directly, whereas jupe kicked off with a generic "Sex!" and proceeded directly to unprovoked slams against Blanker and TemporaryFlux.) I think it's obvious by now that we're dealing with a copycat attack.

Now, recall Consecutive's MO as Spaniel_2: he impersonated one of his own enemies, The_Finick. (Under Consec's logic, anyone who hates him is a "troublemaker" and liable to attack anyone - note his accusations of Darkcider & BrainYak5, at http://www.scifi.com/bboard/browse.cgi/1/5/545/13635/8.) This time, he picked Jupiter... the most profane of his adversaries (you may recall him dubbing Consec a "faggoty cocksucker" at http://www.scifi.com/bboard/browse.cgi/1/5/545/11944) -- and thus from his point of view, the most likely to resort to profane spamming.

Motive. Why would Consecutive spam the board? Simple... he saw it being spammed every couple days, and recognized a prime opportunity to make it look as though Tf and I have more than one enemy. Fact is: we don't. Toss in Jupiter and it's even less plausible. Want proof that this is his line of thinking? Try http://www.scifi.com/bboard/browse.cgi/1/5/545/13635/6, in which he theorizes that the spammer is "someone who is taking [Consecutive's] side." Nice going, chump.

(Side note on that post: Consec is backpedaling. In the past, it's always been "I have posted only as Consecutive and The Consecutive." Suddenly here, he's spouting "For that matter I don't have any other accounts other the one I'm using now.")

Next... opportunity. Consec was online at the time of the spamming... he posted replies in Tf's 'Sliders Movie' thread both soon before and directly after. Isn't it odd then, that he didn't address the spamming until directly accused of it (just as he did with Spaniel_2)?

Oh, and speaking of which... is it just me, or did Consec protest WAY too much at http://www.scifi.com/bboard/browse.cgi/1/5/545/13635/8 and throughout that thread? Take a look at his line from April:

"Unlike Grim_Sleeper I will not go out on a limb and accuse you of being SlidersCoop or anyone else. Things like that are usually impossible to prove anyway!" -- http://www.scifi.com/bboard/browse.cgi/1/5/545/5181/9

Yet this time, he "goes out on a limb" and accuses Darkcider, BrainYak5, the Tf impersonators, Slammy, and Scat_Caper all at once. Oddly enough, he DOES accept the real Jupiter's word that it wasn't him... could it be he KNOWS that, because HE performed the spamming?

Sure, spamming isn't usually Consecutive's style. That's because this time was a spur-of-the-moment decision to piggyback on the other attacks. Aside from the spam factor, everything about this case matches the Spaniel_2 incident.

I'm not asking you to accept my theory on faith... I've just given you the facts. I invite you now to make up your own mind.

I am glad someone else made the connection. As soon as I saw the third spamming, the following things came to mind:

- The spelling is different.
- Not as many posts.
- It's anti-Blinker and anti-TemporalFlux, whereas the other spammer only went after me because I attacked him.
- It reuses old insults, something I honestly can't see the spammer doing.
- You, Blinker, have few enemies.
- Executive dislikes Blinker, TemporalFlux, AND Mars2003.

However, I'm not going to flat-out say "mars_2003 was Exec." There are other suspects. I really don't think it's him... at least not right now. Spamming doesn't seem to be Exec's style. Besides, if he slipped up and/or enough people were convinced it was him, the consequences would be... unpleasant.
Although one must admit there's a lot of evidence pointing in his direction. I definitely think mars_2003 was an isolated incident.
