Since you took the pious road under the guise of "philosophical debate" I'll start with the withered and lopsided argument that the Christian Coalition and it's militant Neo-Gestapo wing called the Right to Lifers often take to "defend" their ideas. (Not to say that you are one of the group, or all R to L'ers are Christian Coalition, but for the sake of argument, all will be included since you took it upon yourself to defend the side)

You spoke of who should decide who lives and who doesn't. You know who decides?

The parents. Plain and simple.

Why? Because after all is said and done the right to Lifers wanna help give the kid "life", but suddenly disappear when all is over and their wretched minority beliefs have been spewed all over the parents of the populous. But, you know what, I have NEVER seen Right to Lifers going over and giving the new and semi-retarded parents extra income from their own pockets after the fifth little burden has been brought into this world. No funds to support the "saved" children, no raffles or rallies to get more low income housing built. Why? Because everyone wants the quick way into Heaven. No one sticks the entire journey out. They see and react like animals.

All will fight for some abstract embryo who's genes are more twisted than a pretzel to live, but will bitch and froth at the mouth about killers and rapists. Where, Thomas, do you think they come from?

I'll tell you, they come from unwanted and fucked in the head children. The most dangerous of killers have what is called "Beaten Child Syndrome". They were so abused as children that a lot of society's laws do not apply to them. They see the world not as one of love and light, but as a fucked up place where you beat and maim things that do not fit into their world. A place where they were told they were never wanted and beaten by a figure who is designated to help and protect them. Yet, where is the Right to Life? Out there keeping the parents from aborting another mess that will only fuck up our society more.

They will rant and rave about how each life is precious as they kill doctors, spit on bums for not getting jobs, and kill mass murderers for killing their sons and daughters.

Where is the logic?

The Christian Coalition and the Right to Lifers are here to secure the tiny "soul" in the embryo at all costs, even logic. Why?

Because at the end, it all relates to themselves. Those who point their fingers and try to control the others who wish for abortions are only trying to destroy the religious insecurity they feel. That's right...they are insecure.

Some do not believe that there is a God. They are the ones who fight for stupid Icons, protect "embryonic souls" and kill the wicked witches. This is because deep down they doubt God. They doubt the faith they cling to like a monkey on a limb. They watch the horror that is the world and wonder what kind of God could do this, or allow it to happen. They feel the need to "help" God and save his "chosens" from the perils of themselves. This way, the "truth" is secured, and the belief becomes "solidified"..for a time.

...it makes me sick.

Show me a Right to Lifer, and I'll show you someone who doubts something within themselves, and usually sees fit to project the fight within to a debate without.

Remember the Golden Calf? Do you know why Yahweh was so pissed? Not because it was a cow that contradicted his alters, or that they had forgotten their God....it was because they put power into a tangible and deteriorating part of a nonsensical world that they knew nothing of. They gave the power that was Yahweh's and threw it into something THEY made.

The same applies here. If God is so powerful and HATES abortion..why not make it impossible to perform? Why allow it to start back with the Egyptians and continue since then? Why not "soften" the hearts of the "wicked" and get them to stop? Why? Because God knows more than we do. God does not need a bunch of malformed versions of Itself defending the ideas It created. God can take care of itself..now as for those in the group defending the embryos....serious issues.

Your use of the Constitution was not a bad argument...but, what would make me happy would be to take certain members the Christian Coalition and blow them to Kingdom Come.

Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness can only be had WITHIN REASON...

Can we then charge a man who kills a woman as a mass murderer for killing all the COULD-BE Humans she had unfertilized in her Uterus?

I think not.

Sometimes things happen for a reason. Maybe one abortion will kill a Hitler that would have succeeded where his predecessor failed. Who knows?! All I know is that the minute we control things like abortion, we might as well give up the right to chose ANYTHING.

What this debate comes down to is two sides wanting to dictate their beliefs on each other at all costs, regardless of logic. I hate the Christian Coalition because they want "equality" as long it's within their standards....don't believe me? Try prayer in schools...how well could a Muslim, Wiccan, Jew, or even...GASP!...a Voodoo priest pray in the same time that a young Christian can without some sort of persecution? RIGHT.

I hate Pro-Lifers for the same reason. Don't force feed me with that bull that worked on the mindless followers you picked up in the alley behind you. I chose other opiates to destroy my will with, and don't need to hear how I am going to hell or am killing another human being. I know that. I kill humans every day I go into work. Every time I get paid, I am robbing someone of my own job. Someone who may have 12 kids and is starving to death and could desperately USE my job, while I blow a wad of cash on Final Fantasy VIII and a new CD without batting an eye.

Don't get me wrong-not all Christians are evil. I just believe that those who need to FORCE it on me are not real religious to begin with. Not all of the Coalition is bad. But, I believe that all things are corrupt. Absolute Power corrupts absolutely, and none are above this. Therefore, any time I see a powerful organization telling me what is "good for me" it makes me uneasy.

Do I believe that life begins at conception? Nope. I believe that the minute you think..that is when you are ALIVE.
