In the course of history, the human race was propelled by its own ability
to advance into something much more. Our ability to discover new technologies
is what makes us the most dominant species on this planet (well, except
for that guy in "The Klumps," the hamster's bitch). There
have been hundreds of great discoveries: fire, the wheel, domestication,
masonry, bronze working, the alphabet, cartography, trade, philosophy,
mathematics, chemistry, medicine, democracy, flight, nuclear poewr,
lesbianism, and hundreds more...
In 1995, travel between parallel universes, "sliding," was
discovered, and nothing has ever been the same since... then the show
got cancelled five years later by the SciFi Channel.
After about six months of listening to other people create their own
answers to Sliders' Season 6 with mixed results, I finally gave in and
decided to write one of my own.
