I recently was fortunate enough to attend a charitable fundraiser out
in California, and invited at this occassion was numerous Hollywood
stars...including Kelsey Grammer.
I approached him and a group who were talking with him, listening to
the conversation, when the topic of science fiction arised. I then asked
him how was it to appear on 'Star Trek, TNG', and he was thrilled, smiling
woth his eyes, talking giddy like schoolgirl being asked out by the
football star. He pretty much thought it as a gift to be considered
for a role. he said he was and still is abig star of 'Star Trek', and
any other sci-fi shows that makes one think, thinking hard, stimulating
the imagination. Any show that attacks and expressed any social situations
that are prominent in the news and society today.
I ask what shows, and he said, like 'X-Files', 'Outer Limits' and 'SLIDERS'.
I again asked, "Are you a big fan of SLIDERS?"
He responded, with a smile, "Oh Yes, the idea of 'What if' stimulated
the imagination to the umpth degree!"
I asked who was his favorite character, and he said "Professor
Arturo, I think his dry humor and bolstering attitude. I think I would
make a wonderful Arturo, don't you agree?"
I asked one final question, about a movie prospect, and he was thrilled
that one can be considered. He said that quite a few of his colleagues
are also fans of the show, and he hoped that the series could someday
be resolved correctly, with the original cast, "Television writers
do amazing things to plots when they use an imagination and the right
words!' he chuckled. "And if they made a movie with a new group
of actors, I would like to be considered for Arturo. I would do him
with honor"
Just wanted to share this tidbit with everyone. I hope you all enjoyed
it
keep the faith
