I'm not listing every episode, so I'll keep it short.

The Best: PTSS, I love that. The Guardian was excellent as well. Kudos to Tracey Torme'. I would say something about the Pilot, but it's one of the two I haven't seen. I enjoyed the rest of Season 1 a lot as well.

The Worst: Well, Paradise Lost is my all-time worst episode. I couldn't stand it. I nit-picked The Chasm to death as well. And there are others, but I can't be bothered to go through them all.

Best five (in no particular order):

- Double Cross (there is *so* much potential created here that
they never bothered to revisit)

- The Young and the Relentless (and I'm not even too excited about
the Remmy/Arturo scenes, but the Wade/Quinn/Evil Wade storyline
is one of the best they've ever done and carries this ep to the
overall best list)

- The Guardian (this one just plain had heart; a character story
rather than an alternate world story)

- World Killer (I especially liked the notion of what Quinn would
have been if it had been his mom that died and not his dad. )

- Fever ("No matter what happens from now on, sliding has made
a difference")

Worst five (again, in no particular order):

- Stoker (the concept of vampires on this show is one of the lamest
of all the "metaphysical" stuff they ever did in season 3. Not to
mention that the weeks-long "let's treat Wade like crap now that
Maggie is here" storyline leading up to this episode was also crap
and was probably a big reason why Sabrina left.)

- This Slide of Paradise (Lame one-liners passing for humor, a total
ripoff of H.G. Wells without *any* new creative touch added, and
the infamous "I'm not gonna lose you Maggie!" line at the end, which
was quite possibly the second-worst moment in the series)

- Dinoslide (actually not a bad ep, but it has to end up here
simply because it contains *the* worst moment in the series, by
far -- the scene at the beginning where Rickman injects himself
and his hair morphs into a bandana and then back to hair. This
was the absolute lowest point that Sliders ever reached. No
question. That a scene that incredibly lame ever reached the screen
is a testament to the total evil and pathetic cluelessness that is
Executive Producer David Peckinpah.)

- Paradise Lost (Please explain why a town of presumably sane
individuals would have attempted to eat worm crap in the first
place. A possibly interesting premise was in here somewhere, but
it was botched horribly by a number of things, tops among them
the lack of explanation for how they discovered the mystical
worm crap properties. Quinn seriously rivals James T. Kirk in
raw "chickie-of-the-week" talent.)

- The Dying Fields (I never would have thought it possible -- an
hour-long episode in which the plot never feels like it advances
even thirty seconds further than where it was when we started. I
couldn't give a hoot about anyone in this episode, and it moved
so slowly that I nearly fell asleep. The female Kromagg's sudden
conversion to "goodness" was the height of plot contrivance (sp?).
Plus, don't forget that nifty way in which the Humaggs look 99.3%
human, and yet Quinn IDs them as Kromaggs from 100 yards away within
30 seconds. Lame lame lame lame lame.)

I'm really tempted to put "Post Traumatic Slide Syndrome as my vote for best episode, but actually I think that "Invasion" rates just a tiny bit higher on my list.

As for worst episode I'm going to have to say "The Breeder". It just plain stunk. ("Dream Masters" is second worst...)

Well, I'll make things quick.

Best: I want to *SAY* PTSS even though I've never *SEEN* it, just based on the summaries I've read of it now that I've looked. Unfortunately, that would be cheating (even in my book) so I'll pick ones I've seen. My call for best episode is, of all things, World Killer. Seriously. I loved the notion and I'm *still* trying to figure out why Quinn didn't keep major notes on creating slide waves for the sake of their inherent usefulness (imagine how differently Exodus could have been done if Quinn had managed to pull off a slide wave function near the end just after Rickman slid.)

Worst: The Chasm. Hands down. I'm sorry, but the part where Quinn and Maggie were "figuring out" how being The Chosen worked...please. "Look, children! This is how people act when they're unhappy with their titles and pay." And, frankly, the science was handled wrong, and that always ticks me off to no end. It's one thing to create a dimensional portal; it's another thing entirely to create a cryogenic system that can deal with total destruction of that sort and still manage to keep the preserved flesh intact in the extremely short warm-up time. It's called BS, that's what it is.

Anyway, keep in mind I haven't seen most of Seasons 1 & 2 but I will as they get recycled into sci-fi fodder.

My favorites are Slidecage (I just liked it!) and the one where the Chandler is haunted by Remmy as a scientist and Quinn as the *Singer*, I just loved the irony of the situation!!

The one I hated the most is The Unstuck Man, it has a weak plot and Quinn is my favorite character (he reminds me of my brother, only smarter!)

BEST-PTSS(Just Great)

Invasion-Had great potential, some messed by the Other Slide of Darkness. Genesis,then, killed it off.

WORST-Exodus-Killed the professor, and started the mental breakdown of Quinn.
Genesis-Nice to bring 'em back, but this 'ain't what was supposed to happen. Try again.
