Things Sliders rarely did

Below iv listed things that were always over looked by producers and writers of Sliders. The iteams that are below are things that I believe would have given Sliders more of a diverse type of story telling that would have attracted much more viewers.

1. Sliding -- During most of the five years the show was on I would say about 85 of the 88 episodes have the gang sliding in and out of the episodes. I believe if the episode started with the gang already on the world or ended with them not leaving the world would of been something different and unique to do. But the writers took the easy way out and had them always slide. I think showing too much sliding kinda takes away from the actual story of the week. Also who says the story needs to take place on another world why not have our main characters have a dream and the show takes place in his/her mind. Maybe have Quinn dream about going back to earthprime? The audience is following this but at the end they find out its just a dream. And why didn't our Sliders never meet another group of Sliders face to face?

2. Music Videos -- These have only been shown during the first season and were very fun to watch. These give the audience the feel that our gang are really on another planet. I have no idea why they didn't try to do more of this in years two, three, four or five.

3. Teasers -- These are the 2-3 minutes in the begging of the show were the story is established. Most of the time we have teasers with our sliders but wouldn't it been great to have the actor of those episodes establish something. Maybe have Remmys double commit a crime and after the commercial break our sliders have to figure out what's going on and why people are pointing at Remmy or along those lines.

4. The Vortex -- I think that the vortex was very overly shown especially in year four and five. God the vortex didn't even look good in those seasons why show it off? I do like Slide by Wire's vortex when we see the back of it. If they only showed more of that. I think too much of the front of the vortex has been shown and not enough of the back. The best back in my mind is the one from the pilot. And what's the deal with our sliders never talking about how their vortex looks like?

5. Connecting Stories -- I never liked the fact every week we see our gang wearing new clothes. I have no idea they were rich. It would of been nice for them to change their clothes every 5-6 episodes because they had to fit in with the styles of those worlds. I would of liked to see more stories connect not only in clothes but have the gang sliding and landing on a earth but the story picks up on that world the next week. This could have been done without the network messing with the order like in years four and five. But for a reason beyond me they decided not to do that.

Well, this is all I can think at the moment. If anyone has there own ideas os what Sliders never did just add them to the list. What did you wanna see that the writers never did or left out that would have improve the quality of our show?

Why would they show the Sliders sliding so much? I dont know, maybe its because of the name of the series? Oh yea! It is! And FYI, the Sliders did meet other Sliders a few times.
Music videos are good, but there werent enough music videos to make the series good once it got into the 4th season.
Teasers. Enough said.
They showed the Vortex because that is what the Sliders used to slide in and out of worlds.
And that last part? Damn, your an idiot. If they used your ideas from the beginning, I probably wouldnt have watched the show. With the ideas they did use, I tolerated the 4th season. And by the time the 5th season came out, I was so far into the series I had to find out how it was going to end.

You do bring us some great points like "Why would they show the Sliders sliding so much? I dont know, maybe its because of the name of the series?" Yes I do know thats the what the show is called my good man. I wanted to point out other ways of telling stories. I think that more than 85 outta of 88 episodes of the doing the same think is kinda boring. I would of like some diversity in story telling. And you say "The Sliders did meet other Sliders a few times" Well thats not true. We never see the gang running into another group of sliders. I mean seeing another Quinn, Wade, Max, and Remmy. And on a last note I still think that showing the group wear the same clothes and having episodes conect is a great idea. This gives the auidence the feel that there following a band of lost travelers. They get involved in these people and having the episodes sorta
connect give them that feeling. Think of Quantum Leap. Anyway thats enough time wasted. Does anyone have any real thoughts and ideas?

I was just thinking last night about why they never actually met another group of Sliders...

I do know that the Teaser endings were stopped by Fox because they suck and that they wanted be able to show the episodes in any order thus they put a stop on the teasers. They should have kept it, it was something to get interest in the next Ep.

What would have happend with Quantum Leap if it wasn't for the teaser ending that showed the very beginnning of the next episode.

They did meet...

Another Quin, Remmy, and Maggie that were Sliders. I forgot the name of the episode, but it was Season 4. It took place in a hotel that was supposedly haunted. Colin was able to see a boy that led him into a room where he then fell into a vortex and ended up on the Astral Plane (I think and I'm not sure of the spelling). Quin did it once in I think season 1 or 2.

thats not what I meant

When I say they never meet a group of Sliders Im talking about there doubles who have been sliding for a while like them. Yes, they did meet Remmy, Quinn, and Maggie in the hotel hotel episode but they weren't sliders. They were people trapped in the astral plane.

Watch that episode again..

At the end of the episode, those doubles slid. You just cant handle being wrong, can you? I've seen that episode a few times and I remember everything that happened in it. And if you want to get technical, Mallory was Quins double and so was Login. They were both Sliders. Oh yea! Pilot episode. Quin met his double for the first time. He was also a Slider. You're not going to win this one, so just give it up.

Wait.. correction...

The first doubles I mentioned weren't Sliders. Remmys double was just experimenting with the technology and thats how they got stuck on the Astral Plane. But I am still right about the Sliders meeting other Sliders. Quins double from the pilot episode, Mallory, and Login were all Sliders. Oh yea! That episode where at the end the Sliders did get home but Quins gate didnt squeek, so they slid thinking they didnt make it home... that episode had another one of Quins doubles that was a Slider.

If anything, there weren't enough teasers and "bookend" worlds. I liked seeing the vortex in every episode, and I especially liked it when they brought new people through the votex. But I hated it when the episode would end with them sliding through the vortex, and then the vortex simply disappears...roll credits, the end. That was boring. I loved it when they'd show the first few moments on the next world right before the episode ended.

I also would have liked to see more groups of sliders. How come we never saw an alternate group of Quinn/Wade/Remmy/Maggie, or Quinn/Remmy/Maggie/Colin, or Remmy/Maggie/Mallory/Diana? And why did we only see just two of Diana's doubles, and never ANY of Mallory's (S5) doubles??

Ok yea you have a point but that's not what I mean when im talking about another group of Sliders. This is more than one person. We only meet doubles of our Sliders. We never see four people come out of the vortex with our Sliders seeing this. Think of our Sliders seeing another group of humans or their doubles sliding and they see it. Yes, I do know they meet there doubles on worlds which were sliders but we never see a group of them slide. Lets say the episode starts and our Sliders are walking down the street and a vortex opens and their doulbes come out. This is what im talking about ok. I hope you get this because this is my last post.
