When the defense sacks the quarterback in the endzone, scoring a safety worth 2 points to the defense.

TEASE 5:
Which of these numbers is the odd-one-out?

43 26 50 37 17 82

82 is the odd one out. It is the only one where one of it's digits, the 8, has factors that are not prime, i.e. 4 X 2 = 8.

have at least one of the numbers in them.

Tease 47

A man is in jail and is planning his escape. His cell, which is on the third floor, is 30 meters above ground level. Shady managed to remove one of the bars from the window, enabling him to squeeze through. He has a rope, but it is only 15 meters in length and a fall of 15 meters would be too dangerous. Aside from the bars on his cell window, there is nothing else, above or below, when he could fasten the rope. However, using just the rope the man was able to escape safely. How?

The tied the rope to the bars, made a noose and hung himself. There he escaped safely. Dead but safely escaped.

A man went into a bank to cash a check. In handing over the money, the cashier, by mistake, gave him dollars for cents and cents for dollars. He pocketed the money without examining it, and spent a nickel on his way home. He then found that he possessed exactly twice the amount of the check. He had no money in his pocket before going to the bank. What was the exact amount of that check?

$31.63 is the exact amount of the check.

Final
Omega has 49 out of 50. Missing #14.

here are the correct answers:

Tease #1

In the land of Liars and Truthtellers there were two
families a little different from the general population.
The Smith's, who told the truth only in the morning and
lie in the afternoon, and the Jones' who speak the truth
only in the afternoon and lie in the morning.

You meet one person from each of these families on the
street but you are not sure which is which. They make
the following statements:

A: It is afternoon
B: My last name is Jones.

Who is who, and is it morning or afternoon?

SOLUTION TO TEASE:
A is a Jones, B is a Smith and it is afternoon. If statement
A were false, it would be morning and it would have to be a
Jones speaking but that would also make statement B false
and both statements could not be false because one lies in
the afternoon and one tells the truth.

Tease 2
What does man love more than life
Fear more than death or mortal strife
What the poor have, the rich require,
and what contented men desire,
What the miser spends and the spendthrift saves
And all men carry to their graves?

Answer: Nothing
Tease 3

We are little creatures; all of us have different features.
One of us in glass is set; one of us you'll find in jet.
Another you may see in tin, and the fourth is boxed within.
If the fifth you should pursue, it can never fly from you.
What are we?

The answer was the vowels of the alphabet.

TEASE 4:
"Now you listen to me," yelled Art to buck, the owner of the football club, "I've been producing television sports for 20 yrs. and rule #1 is this; if you want to win you have to control the ball. In order to control the ball you have to have an offensive star who can put the points on the board. Sign a major quarterback & I'll give you the deal. Otherwise, forget it." As Buck got up to leave, Art yelled again, "Now remember, I don't care if you're talking basketball, soccer or polo, the tease that's on offense has control of the ball!" "Well that's where you're wrong," replied Buck. What situation was Buck referring to?

SOLUTION:
Baseball. In baseball it's the defense that controls the ball.

TEASE 5:

Which of these numbers is the odd-one-out?

43 26 50 37 17 82

Solution: 43, the others are 1 greater than a square root

Tease 6:

to make the expression equal to 99.

16 * 12 * 2 * 3 = 99
SOLUTION TO TODAY'S TEASE: 16 x 12 ÷ 2 + 3 = 99

Tease 7

There is a cage at the zoo that contained both peacocks and wild pigs. If there is a total of 30 eyes and 44 feet, how many of each are in the cage?

SOLUTION

Five athletes were returning from a cross-country race. Athlete C placed third, and athlete E placed second. From the following information, can you tell how athletes A, B, and D placed in the race?

Athlete A was not last. Athlete A came in after E. Athlete D was not first.

Solution: Since C was 3rd and E was 2nd, A could only be 1st or 4th. Since A was behind E, A could not be first; therefore A must be 4th. D could not be 1st, 2nd, 3rd, or 4th, so D must be 5th. If D is 5th, A 4th, C 3rd, and E 2nd, then B must be 1st.

There's a light bulb upstairs and three light switches downstairs, one of which controls the bulb upstairs. How can you find the switch that controls the bulb upstairs by only making one trip upstairs?

SOLUTION
Turn one switch on for five minutes. Then turn that one off and turn the second one on and go upstairs. If the light is off you know it isn't the second switch. Then FEEL the bulb to see if it is warm. If it is warm then it was the first switch that was left on for five minutes. If the bulb is neither warm or illuminated then you know that the third switch, which was never turned on, is the one that operates the bulb upstairs.
