It's been so long since we had to look that you may have forgotten...but a new Year 5 Journal by Dammy is up on the main Sliders page at Sci-Fi:
It has some interesting bits in it...including the fact that this story was yet another which David Peckinpah is responsible for (with the infamous "Go with it!"). Turns out one of the original ideas from his "Go with it!" was to have the episode be about yet another Mexico/US relations problem that led to a Berlin-esque wall in California. I think they ended up with the better concept.
Anyway, go read it for yourself...it's pretty interesting stuff (who would have through the "Asylum" sky jump was made using footage from the shortlived show "Spy Game"?). Be warned, however...the man *still* goes on and on about his lunch.

I believe Dammy sums up the attitude of the production team for season five on continuity blunders:

They just honestly didn't care.
