Eye
of the Storm - A Clue?

I haven't been able to view the full episode yet...just the last fifteen
minutes. But during that, something clicked with me.
Geiger talks about how he needed someone with a similar quantum frequency
(signature) to his own in order to merge. No one else was compatible....and
*that's* why he hired Mallory in the first place.
Now, for that to be the only reason he hired Mallory...wouldn't that
mean that no one else on "Unstuck Man" world had a quantum
frequency similar to Geiger? After all...if they did, couldn't Geiger
have just used anyone already at the lab?
What I'm getting at is...quantum frequencies (signatures) are the marker
of your home dimension. Now it is assumed that Geiger was not originally
from "Unstuck Man" earth (given the way he talked about the
extended length of his travels as Unstuck in "Applied Physics"...a
story that took place not long after "Unstuck Man" which doesn't
match the length of time he was conveying). "Unstuck Man"
earth is just where he was able to anchor himself and "set up shop"
so to speak...to find a "cure".
Now if Geiger was not from "Unstuck Man" earth...then he
wouldn't have a quantum frequency (signature) the same as anyone in
that dimension...only people from his own dimension would. Enter Mallory...someone
who *does* have Geiger's frequency.
During all this time, we have never seen Geiger be around or mention
Kromaggs. What if Geiger was a human from Kromagg Prime originally?
No one's ever asked him that...right? That world had the advance science
and knowledge to pull off things in the area Geiger has tried. I put
that out to say this...if Geiger is from Kromagg Prime, then that would
mean Mallory is too. Which would show Mallory as one of the *real* lost
Malloy sons from Kromagg Prime...the real Quinn of the abandoned brothers.
And that would show that *our* Quinn was not one of the missing brothers...and
explain why Mallory looks different (since the Kromagg Prime mom is
a different woman proven by the names).
Anyway, there's nothing really conclusive in there...just some food
for thought. Thought it was an interesting possible clue...it may not
have been placed intentionally (and I seriously doubt it was), but it
could easily be built upon by another writer down the line.

Quite a bit could come of that...

But...

If Mallory were really one of the lost Kromagg Prime brothers, then
Mrs. Mallory from "Genesis" would not have given Quinn the
microdot. They look nothing alike. She would have given it to someone
that looks like Mallory.
Of course, this can hold true in other ways. Quinn and Colin weren't
the only ones to be sent off to be raised in another world, as seen
in "Revelations." Maybe Mallory falls under the same boat.
You know, it's amazing how much of a difference Quinn Mallory made
throughout the multiverse. Merging, being raised on another world, inventing
sliding, making the Kromaggs a formidable enemy by giving them the equation...he's
been busy, hasn't he?

But the only thing is...Mrs. Mallory's actions in "Genesis"
have always been viewed as suspicious. And the fact that the Kromaggs
were proven to have watched the whole thing in "Genesis" (the
general comments on it in the same episode) and *planned* for Quinn
to get the microdot (as later seen in "Slidecage") show that
is was a Kromagg trick on some level.
What I'm saying is...whoever said that Mrs. Mallory was really the
lost Quinn's adoptive mother? After all, the Kromaggs used a double
of Rembrandt's father already to try to further their ends...using a
double of Quinn's Mom bent to their will wouldn't be a stretch. It could
very easily come down to a case of mistaken identity due to the Kromaggs
hearing "Quinn Mallory" and remembering the one they held
in "Invasion". After all, if the real adoptive mom of the
lost Quinn had died before being fully mindprobed...they may have no
idea what the guy looked like and just assume it's the same (since practically
all doubles look the same).
Of course, "The Seer" comes to mind with Mrs. Mallory running
around acting like that's her son...but does anyone really think these
doubles would willingly cooperate? She was likely brainwashed and programmed
just like Remmy was (his program kicked in during "Slidecage").
If that program is still active (and it would be...why would the Maggs
care to take time to "fix" her)...then that Mrs. Mallory would
honestly still believe that was her son.
Just some more thoughts...all of it could very easily be pieced together
with what we've been given.

Interesting,
but...

If Mallory was the Quinn from Kromagg Prime then why was he on The Unstuck
Man Earth? Shoudn't he have been on Genesis Earth, because that is where
the parents from K.P. left the Quinn from K.P.
We also know he didn't slide to The Unstuck Man Earth (unless he was
to young to remember) because he was asking Remmy what was that, a wormhole?
And stuff like that on the begining of The Unstuck Man.
So, do you know of a reason why he could have been on The Unstuck Man
Earth?

Well...

From: TemporalFlux
Well...things could be spun this way - the Kromagg Mallorys never left
microdots. That could be one of the clinchers revealing the Kromagg
trick. The story could have had the Maggs figuring a way to bypass the
Slidecage on their own...but unable to use it (since they would be beaten
back as soon as they went through). They devised the dots, placed in
the information and the story for our Quinn based on a fact they knew
about the Kromagg Mallorys...they had put their sons on other worlds
to protect them before the war was over. Why do that? Because they needed
someone who could activate the way to Kromagg Prime who would be accepted
and keep the "door" open long enough for the Kromaggs to sneak
in and overwhelm K Prime before it could react. Now...they get to looking
around and remember this Quinn Mallory who was lost from home that they
had a tracking implant in.
And all this time...one of the real sons is on "Unstuck Man"
earth...and our Sliders run into him later. Ironically, our Quinn gets
merged with him...and ends up being one of the real sons after all since
he is now supposedly inseparable.

Giving
the writers too much credit
Date: 01/29/2000
From: Kromagg1
The thing about the writing team this season is not only are they clueless
but they also thing that we'll just accept anything they heave at us.
Now if this was a *really* clever show known for its great story arcs
and continuity then maybe I'd consider this to be a really clever puzzle
left for us to figure out. Now the season 4 writing team could have
pulled this off. They showed clever placing of evidence that Colin wasn't
who he seemed to be. But when they found that they didn't want to go
that direction, they easily ignored the hints previously given because
they were so cleverly hidden and only a keen eye or ear would pick them
up and piece them together. Now it seems that they just *love* throwing
around technobabble with no definitions so that they can define them
at a later date and basically not be stuck going one direction, they
can basically use the technobabble to play the arc any way they want.
But this team basically made a mud pile with the definitions of words
and theories and all sorts of stuff. Instead of looking down at the
mess they created to see if there is a story in the mess or possibly
make some sense of the mess (like TF did) they just decided to poke
at the mess. Smush it around a bit. Occasionally just clearing the mud
away and putting down new mud. Then building on that mud pile. How did
they go from trying to find a way to defeat the Maggs to all of a sudden
randomly trying to find Remmy's earth? They'd already been there, they
know it's occupied by Kromaggs but gee golly, let's just forget that
and use the magic PDL to get closer and closer with every slide all
the while forgetting that the coordinates are already in the timer.
And none of them showed any emotion that all of their home coordinates
were erased from the timer. Mallory and Diana's home was lost, Maggie's
colony was lost, Remmy's EP was lost, but did anyone show any emotion?
Nah. And did Gieger ever actually say that separating the Quinns was
ever impossible? It was difficult, yes, but when did he ever say it
was impossible? If it was, why did Diana and Mallory even come along?
That was the latest in the mud pile of objectives. It's like that saying,
'if you put a million monkeys at computers and have them type eventually
one will type a perfect paper' or something like that. Anyway, we've
got a group of monkeys who are almost there but the paper still is riddled
with typos, incorrect word usage, and even some punctuation errors.
:-) I think we've all got the idea. Yeah, it's a great story that works
and will tie up much of the chaos and please many fans and also make
it look like the crap was put there on purpose (and not put there for
someone to slip on), but I doubt anyone will ever pick up on it. It's
funny, though, how every question about that theory can be answered
by something that the writers placed (obviously not on purpose) and
will easily work. Frustrating that we've got such an easy solution that
will never get done.

Perhaps....

Perhaps Giger had kidnapped Mallory when he was a baby and originally
placed him with foster parents, we have no idea how long he had been
unstuck after all.
Also has anyone considered the possiblity that Colin might have been
another fraternal counterpart, and Quinn only assumed that he was his
brother because the microdot said so?

MAYBE...

It could be that the dimesional frequency that Geiger was refering to
could be that of our Quinn. That would mean that Geiger is from Earth
Prime. Possible, yes?
