Hey, they already did...

...a caffeine-is-illegal world: "Sole Survivors". Though in true Season Three fashion this was glossed over in favour of a plot involving flesh-eating zombies.

Thanks for the info though,
Blinker 7:-)

Encouraging...

It looks to be some good ideas...in fact, the customer service episode looks like another Keith Damron gem (ala Lipschitz Live! - and no, I don't know if Damron wrote it, it just sounds like something he would come up with). Also, the coffee world could be good (like Blinker said...maybe they'll do it right this time).

I'm a bit apprehensive about the Clinton Impeachment episode...they may surprise me though. And then of course, there's the war ep. Did we really need another one?

So, here's the rundown on the season ideas we've heard so far (some of these may be connected in one episode and not separate as I list them - and if I left out something, please feel free to add):

1 - the Mallory amalgam story on cutting edge world - the Premiere - several sources, including the Sci-Fi Entertainment interview
2 - An "in the trenches" Kromagg episode continuing the amalgam story - Episode two: "Applied Physics"? - Ultimate TV interviews and Sci-Fi Entertainment interview
3 - "God in the machine" retool with injured Mallory being healed - author David Gerrold
4 - World with Diana's single mom double without education - Sci-Fi Entertainment interview
5 - Roaring Twenties world - Sci-Fi Entertainment interview
6 - Motorcyle world - Mallory love story - Sci-Fi Entertainment interview
7 - Mental institute ep - eye witness report of "Neural Institute"
8 - wrap up to Wade story - Oct. 31 Damron chat
9 - wrap up to Kromagg story - Oct. 31 Damron chat
10 - Mall episode from eyewitness report (also "Please Press One"? - USFC)
11 - "Java Jive" - USFC
12 - "A Current Affair" - Cinescape and USFC
13 - "Strangers and Comrades" - war ep - USFC
14 - Another war ep - Floyd said there were a "couple" of war eps in the recent Sci-Fi Entertainment interview

So, we possibly now know the premise of all but 4 of the season five episodes (assuming that none of the preceding ideas are combined in one ep). As always, however, just knowing the premise isn't a fair judge for the episode as a whole. I can't speak for anyone else, but when I first heard the premise of eps like "Obsession," "Love Gods" and even "The Guardian"...I thought they would be crap. But, they turned out to be some of the better episodes. It all comes down to execution...if done correctly, even the most horrible idea can turn out to be a shining episode. And there is a strong indication of encouragement to believe that...because it has now been reported that the season five is more satirical (ala season one and two...and satire is one of the large things that made those seaons work in my opinion).
