HoF Updated [7/8/02]

Date: 07/08/2002
From: DieselMickeyDolenz

This HoF update features the opening of several new section of the Hall. First and foremost is the new 'Events' section. Several existing HoF entries such as the Beret Wars and, Survivor and flame tournament have been relocated to this section. In addition, Blinker has started in on the monumental task of encoding the various post parties that have appeared on the Dominion. The first to be completed is the 1999 Christmas party. I can't thank Blinker enough for tackling these, as they'd almost assuredly never get done otherwise.

Other new sections include an archive for Blinker's episode games, a listing of BBoard member birthdays (if yours isn't there either e-mail it to me or post it below), the beginnings of an update history section, and the addition of the Guest Map that so many have been gracious enough to sign on to (thanks to Tf for that idea).

New posts under the 'Authors' and 'Miscellaneous' section are from Blinker, Brand_S, CoolSlider, DSproxima, Enigma666, HuntedD_Raven, Informant, lucast, QBall79, Real_Slider, Slider_120, Slider_Quinn21, Sliderfanatic, sliderlynn, Stax_, and ThomasMalthus. And 'Way Out West' is the newest edition to the 'Scripts' section.

Thanks go out to Blinker, Recall317, Joey_Starr for the nominations.

HoF poll results are as follows:

"Which Script would you like to see added to the archive next?"

Luck of the Draw 24 (68%)
Obsession 1 (2%)
Rules of the Game 5 (14%)
Oh Brother, Where Art Thou 2 (5%)
Applied Physics 0 (0%)
New Gods for Old 3 (8%)

And the only poll-related comment:
Dead blonde chicks? "Go with it!"

The new poll is eerily similar to the last:

"Which Script would you like to see added to the archive next?"

In Dino Veritas
Luck of the Draw
Obsession
Rules of the Game
Oh Brother, Where Art Thou
Applied Physics
New Gods for Old

As always, any feedback, nominations, or suggestions are welcome.

PS Anyone else notice we finally got our 'Sliders' logo back?

Looks great!

Love the new font in the Authors sections. Gives a nice clean look. I do notice one tiny problem, though. Looks like you linked up the Section31 guestmap instead of the Sliders one. ;-)

Noticed we got our title back too...but that's not all! They even went back and fixed the View Article links on the main Sliders site (http://www.scifi.com/sliders). Now they point here instead of the Farscape board. Good to know we're finally getting some attention.

Beginning Text mustn't be archived!

Fantastic update! Special thanks for taking on the rerun games; that's something so monumental that I'd always shied away from it... or maybe it was inability to deal with the knowledge that every new game I wrote up or reply I received would mean more work down the line. 7;-)

Anyway, I'll get right back to pulling together the other parties and that special exhibit we discussed! Woo Hoo!

PS. The update history consists of all the announcement posts? Pure genius...

PPS. Now that the GuestMap is formally a part of the site, how about the EustiPolls?

I need the HOF

Otherwise I'd forget my name.

You'd have no idea how many times I'd be reading a reply to one of those posts and not even recognize myself. I was just talking to Blinker about the Fever caps and saying how I didn't remember them.

Lo and behold, a post about that capping session and me saying how much I enjoyed the Fever caps.

:)

Thanks for the update! Much appreciated!

Beginning Text deserves no replies.

I'm glad everyone seems to like the update. As Blinker implied, there's more to come.

Tf:

D'oh! Thanks for pointing that out. It should be fixed now.

Blinker:

>>Special thanks for taking on the rerun games;

Hey, if those aren't a part of what makes the board great, I don't know what is.

>>I'll get right back to pulling together the other parties and that special exhibit we discussed!

In the words of another handle, "moist excellent!" Hopefully we can get those and the exhibit completed before the board "evolves."

>>PPS. Now that the GuestMap is formally a part of the site, how about the EustiPolls?

I think Nobuyuki suggested that when they were originally done. If they still remain after I've finished archiving the posts you've nominated over the last year, I'll start on those. The results are still available here: http://slidersweb.net/eustislider/poll.htm
