Okay...just to get everyone up to speed on what happened...and just what the Beret War is....here is a post from long ago..............

One hundred years from now I'm sure the history books will read something like this:

And so, in the year of our Lord, 1999, the conflict known as 'The Beret War' began.

On one side were the men of the 'Anti-Beret League', determined to stop the constant references to Berets that kept appearing in posts on the Sliders bboard. With their fearless leader BritSlider and his trusty sidekick QBall79 they fought for truth, justice and the elimination of stupid headgear.

Standing against these brave freedom fighters were the evil female forces of the 'Berets for All' campaign. Their Dictator-for-life 1013shan, her - quite clearly deranged - Lieutenant spaz119, and having risen phoenix-like from the ashes the Minister For Propaganda Mychand. Their mission; to make everyone wear berets so that they would look like French onion sellers, or art students, I'm not sure which was worse.

The conflict was evenly balanced at the beginning, with small skirmishes resulting in minor casusalties on either side. But then the evil Dictator-for-life 1013shan came up with a cunning plan; they would attack while the men were all watching the Superbowl! This new strategy was devastating. On that fatefull Sunday night the evil women of the BFA crept up on the heroic ABL men, and just as the first touchdown was about to be scored, placed superglued berets on the heads of those ABL men. The effect was terrible. All the men of the ABL had immediate heart seizures and died, rather than lokk like morons with those hats on.

The only men to survive this attack were those foolish enough to think that berets actually look 'cool', and with such a small gene pool to repopulate the world, that is the reason the earth is in such a bad state as it is today.

THE END

....it's ok.....I've found my medication now.....I'm feeling much better.....I think I'll go and lie down......

Just when I thought the whole beret obsession thing was starting to die down, you've gone and put it back into the forefront of people's minds! LOL!

It all started because a certain someone, I'm mentioning no names, (actually I will - it was 1013shan!) became fixated with berets, and started to put them into every post that she wrote. Then, like an infectious disease, other people started to pick it up; like spaz119 (when she wasn't going on about JOC wearing just a towel!), and so it spread to epidemic proportions.

Recently though, a kind a 'normality penicillin' has seen these random beret appearances dwindle away, although now that you've brought the subject up again I'm sure their re-emergence will occur with a new and more virulent strain than before.

We must gather our forces together to fight this evil infection, keep the bboard a 'Beret Free Zone' :)
