The Reich in the title is a reference not to the Third Reich (pronounced rike), but to former Clinton Labor Secretary Robert B. Reich (pronouced (rish) with a long I). You see originally this storyline was supposed to concentrate on the immigration/forced Labor aspect, with Reich playing himself as an opponent of Governor Schick. David Peckinpah however saw the opportunity to a Nazi storyline. (We haven't enought Nazi references this season.) So Robert Reich was dropped. Incidentally, Reich had been a consultant for Sliders for some time, and is in fact TemporalFlux's secret informant.


Wait a minute, this isn't Unknown Fact? I'll go with "All American", since the bad guys are trying to define American as Caucasian.

P. S. How is "California Reich" like "Stoker"? Well in "Stoker" no one ever heard of Dracula. In CR no one ever heard of Hitler. Just think if Josef Anderson had written this script the Stompers would have called themselves the Reich and names like Goerring, Goebbels, Himmler, and Hess.
