-- GOOD THING, BAD THING: THE GUARDIAN --

SYNTHIA: WHOA, whoa whoa whoa whoa. You expect us to find a BAD THING in "THE GUARDIAN"?!?!?

BLINKER: It was that or find a *good* thing in "The Dream Masters."

SYNTHIA [after a moment]: Point. All right, lemme see... good thing: Jerry's acting. Not an Emmy contender or anything, but it's one of my last chances to say that so I'm going to take it while I can. :-P Bad thing: why didn't Quinn just *explain* to Arturo and friends why he had to alter the outcome of the fight? Surely they wouldn't have tried to stop him *then*. Of course, then all the drama would fizzle, right?

FOGBOY: Hey! Questioning the will of Tormé brings WRATH. And believe me, I know!

BLINKER: All right. Good thing: the confrontation between Quinn and Arturo is riveting stuff. My bad thing is that so much awesome material was clipped from the script... like the New Year's Eve scene, and the Arturo Jumping fad. Ahhhhhh well.

SYNTHIA: 'Tis to weep. :'-( [instantly shifts gears into Hyperactive Weather Presenter Mode] So! What are YOUR good things and bad things, audience members??? Come share, or be square!!!

THE GOOD: Pretty much everything about the episode. It's my favorite of the series. It's beautiful and it really struck home for me.

THE BAD: God only knows how little Quinn is going to grow up now that our Quinn has interfered with his timeline.

THE UGLY: Arturo's concubine.

I hated this episode, it didn't give any homage to my favorite movies and for a season three episode I wanted alot better.

Good Thing: It had some girl. Quinn liked her or something.

Bad Thing: Where is the actual adventure? The huge wombats from another planet who are trying to kill the evil warlord vampire? Geeze.

A Unique Episode

It's (I think) the only "SLIDERS" in which no one and nothing steals the timer, locks the sliders in jail, or outright tries to kill them. "The Weaker Sex" came soooo close until the assassination attempt.

As for the downside, too bad it could only be an hour...

Good thing : Almost everything in this episode.

Bad thing: Still waiting for the fat kid from 'Stand by Me'.

Cool a video. Thanks Blink. Beats almost everything that's on TV right now.

The Good, the bad, and the Guardian

Good thing: Arturo gets to cut loose for a change.

Bad thing: The time concept is kinda warped. I can buy historical events happening at a slower rate because the Earth is spinning slower. However, this would have no effect on physical happenings like the San Francisco earthquake. The only way to delay that would be to slow time itself, which would mean that it actually *was* 1985 there, not 1996.

Good thing: Arturo's Indiana Jones reference. Now to get Remmy to mention "Moscow on Hudson"!

Bad thing: Speaking of Remmy (and Wade) they should have been more involved in this episode. Although I have to admit their lines after the Prof "Arturo jumped" were some of the funniest of the series. Hey, I know it's a nitpick, but what do you want from "The Guardian"???

Good Thing : It had everthing needed to create a perfect Sliders episode , San Fransisco , multiple storylines , Wade . But then again this is probably the episode which set those paramaters down .

Bad Thing : What ? No little Bennish ? stax

Good,Thing, Bad Thing,Columbus Day Thing

K, here we go mebbe! Roll the dice, win a prize!

Good Thing: Arturo's wild side. It was pretty cool seeing The Prof loosen up for once.

Bad Thing: Arturo's illness. I know it disappears into nothing by mid-way through the season, but it's sad that it took a life threatening disease to have the man explore the depths of his soul.

Columbus Day Thing: It sucked this year! Not only did it fall out on Yum Kippur robbing me of an extra day off, but it wa ass cold as Ice World in NY today!

That's my story and I'm sticking to it
