About
those berets...
Date: 1/14/99
From: 1013shan
I just noticed that Exec posted something about those berets
way back up on the top of the board..and I was thinking about them also
so I just wanted to comment..
I didn't like them..
Unless Exec, like you said, they wore them in the past world to fit in..OK..
then I understand them..but I still didn't like them.
Why would you keep a beret pasted on your head for 10 hours? Especially
when you engage in a fight with lunatics..wouldn't it fall off? Or at
least flop over to the side? And then you'd take it off!!!
And why, oh why weren't Colin and Quinn wearing them? I think they may
have tried them on in wardrobe and someone politely but gently suggested
that perhaps they'd look better more dashing "sans" beret.
Or one of them could have worn the beret..I think Remmy looked better..well
whatever..now you all know how I feel about berets..now hats I have no
problem with..
Sorry I'm being silly, but the University I work at is closed because
of "inclement weather condition" so I've got a snow day!!!:)
which is really fun except that when you're as old as I am, none of your
friends have a snow day, so I've got to find some way to keep busy!! :)
But really..let me know what you think about this whole beret fiacso..

BritSlider where are you?? - I say that in a pathetic little voice as
I gaze into the sky... :(

...I was thinking the same thing. It looked like Wardrobe was
experimenting with different looks, but I don't think it worked for Maggie.
Plus, they must have had the beret superglued to her head - why else wouldn't
it fall off during the Maggie Beckett Power Hour fight scenes?
Speaking of wardrobe...what is up with the sweaters and cardigans on Quinn?
I don't pretend to be the fashion police, but I think they are getting
a little carried away with it.
Well, wishing I had a snow day... :)

Maybe
Monica?

Wouldn't you agree that the Clinton scandal had something to
do with the berets since Monica Lewinsky was always wearing a beret? Maybe
this was the show's way of making fun of the scandal.

Oh sure....SLACKER!! :o) Hey but I'm home early again too.
No work to do!! I can relate. All my friends are working too....except
you it seems.
I think the berets looked silly too. It didn't fit into the storyline.
Maybe it was explained but was cut from the ep? Can't picture Quinn and
Colin with one on!!!

maybe..that's not a bad theory..they definately do political
commentary (Ollie North as president in Love Gods)...hmmm...I wonder if
anyone else thought this..
Thanks..I just wanted to see the beret fall over and stick to the front
of Maggies face for the entire ep.. :0

Food for thought.

Colin
and Quinn in berets? Yuck!

Wouldn't *that* be a picture!
And you're so right, there's no way a beret would have stayed on
during Maggie's fight scene unless it were glued to her head
(and did anyone else think that scene was just a *little* bit
much? I know she's supposed to be a Marine but I didn't think
they taught Marines Kung Fu!)

I
really think that ...

Maggie looks horrible in anything! The beret looked okay on
Remmy, but two out of four characters having one was a but much, as you
said.
Allow me to be the next person to say "Yuck."
At least it wasn't rasberry!!
