Another Net Worthy

OK, it really isn't that worthy but I had some time
to kill today and I forgot to mention it earlier:
Two of the sliders were seen in a way I've never seen them before
(at least not before the 5th season) -- wearing berets!!
Maggie looked like a thin, beautiful version of Monica Lewinsky
in hers, and Rembrandt resembled Samuel L. Jackson when he still
had hair. What's the deal? Were our heroes previously on a world
in which you had to wear a beret in order to fit into society?
If that were the case, then it didn't take the Mallory brothers
too long to lose their fancy hats...

"styles" |

I`ve often wondered as to the nature of each style
the sliders have for each episode. When I saw the preview of
"Net Worth," I figured that the shiny shirt Maggie
wore and the berets worn by her and Rembrandt were acquired
in the "on-line" world. From the episode, we see that
this is not true. However, I believe that the nature of such
clothes were not as important to the producers as it was to
dress the crew according to the "on-line" world. I
remember a not so recent episode that opens with the sliders
traversing through the jungle in "safari" clothes
which you automatically assume to accompany the scene. However,
without a mall or clothes store, you wonder where these came
from. Thus, in "Net Worth," I believe Maggie`s style
(which she looked quite good in) was only used to intensify
the environment of the on-line world.
