I'm not feeling particularly creative this morning, so I'm just going to play this one straight.
Quinn bringing down the Manta with the timer isn't credible. They've made it very clear that the timer can't be activated until the Helix Spiral counts down. So how can it fire an energy beam?
Tracy Torme: You should have seen what I wanted to do with it in Blood and Splendour! And you think you're crying now?

I'm pretty sure the words that have been used (in deleted scenes admittedly) are that the timer cannot access the gate until the window opens. I don't recall anything said about not being able to activate it.
Also, with the exception of some season 2 episodes, hasn't the timer ALWAYS emitted a beam?

The Manta ship itself

Beginning Text must be deoculated!
Oh sure, the swooping silver sliver looks wicked cool. But it does leave us with a couple nagging questions, such as: how do the Kromagg marauders get down from it so quickly during the New France sequence? There's no sign of an exit on the ship, or of an additional vortex opening at ground level. And how come when the ship crashes, it has pink styrofoam ribs? Did the whole "organic metal" surface melt on impact or something?

BT loves the line "I am the Goddess of Empathy."
I would have liked it kept in the original showing order with this following Obsession. At least that would have made sense.
Oh, bring on the mimes! Can't have a French World without a mime. :-)

Okay, I can't remember if there were mimes or not.
